The potency and how long meds can work do depend on the person taking the drug. And the variance can be dramatic. The narcotic in Percocet, oxycodone, is roughly 50% stronger than the narcotic in Vicodin (hydrocodone). For comparison purposes, hydrocodone is just about equal to morphine in potency. Neither Vicodin nor Percocet are formulated to be a long lasting drug, so both will peak in intensity and gradually diminish in strength as time goes on. I believe both Vicodin and Percocet are written to be used every 4-6 hours as needed. Taking it all into consideration, I wholeheartedly agree with the original person who ed this question - it depends on the person. The only reason I went into detail on potency is to show that these drugs are so similar in strength that it really does boil down to the patient.

The medications will last the same amount of time depending on the person. If you take a higher strength it won't make them last longer they will just make the pain relief better for you. Percocet is stronger than Vicodin (depending on the person.) For me I know that Vicodin works on me and Percocet doesn't do anything for my pain.

However, a small number doesn't always mean much. Tylenol and aspirin are 325mg per tablet. A patient who is having a heart attack would receive 2-4 mg of morphine. 325mg of morphine would be deadly and 3.25mg of tylenol wouldn't even be helpful if you were the size of a cat.

Try and drink as much water as you can, however this will not clean out the opiate any faster it will dilute your urine for the day of the test, and wait as late as you can on monday to take the test.

Really the only difference is norcos have less acetaminophen than vicoden. They put alot of acetaminophen(Tylenol) in vicodenand lortab to prevent people from taking alot at one time. Too much acetaminophen at one time will shut down your kidneys!
