Does pregnancy start at conception or implantation?

Pregnancy is typically dated from the first day of the woman's last menstrual period, even though conception usually occurs about two weeks later. So, based on this common dating method, pregnancy is said to begin at the time of conception. However, the embryo must implant in the uterus for the pregnancy to progress, which occurs about 6-12 days after conception.

Is there a possiblity that Implantation bleeding overlaps with periods ie occurs at the same time as your period?

Implantation bleeding typically occurs around 6-12 days after conception, which is before your expected period. It is unlikely to overlap with your actual period since it is a sign of pregnancy implantation rather than a menstrual cycle. If bleeding coincides with your period, it's more likely to be a normal period.

Can you have symptoms of pregnancy before implantation?

Well, generally speaking, that wouldn't really be possible, unfortunately (though I'd love to know sooner! dying to find out myself). You see, it is only at the point of implantation that your body becomes aware that there is something going on inside.

It is the changes in hormone levels within your body that cause early signs of pregnancy (nausea, tender/swollen breasts, heightened sense of smell, cramping/bloating, etc). It is all completely caused by your body adjusting to changes in hormone--changes that your body *must* make in order to support a baby.

Until an embryo implants in your uterine lining, your body carries on business as usual with it's regular hormonal cycle. Once an embryo burrows into the uterine lining, that is when your body figures out that there is a baby there to support and starts altering it's hormone productions. But that's honestly the first trigger. It's not when a sperm meets an egg, but when that egg "connects" with your body.

What is the difference between implantation bleeding and mentrual period?

During implantation bleeding, it is only a little spot of blood or a few little spots. You only need a pantyliner for it, not a tampon or sanitary towel. It only lasts for a day

Weird cramps and Period maybe implantaion My period started on Aug 9th. It was 4 d early. It was light pink and brown and very light period. Could this be implantation I have been cramping. Am I prg?

You could well be pregant! It sounds like implantation symptons. Wait until your normal date to come on and take a test, if it says no, then wait a few more days and see whats what. If its been over a week and your still in the same position, then i'd go and see a doctor.

Does implantation bleeding always mean your pregnant?

I'm not sure cause I heard people say you can have a period while pregnant which is getting me scared. I did have Implantation bleeding 2 weeks after that I got my period which was strange it wasn't painful at all. I'm having periods every month but ever since I had Implantation bleeding they have gone in a pattern. I'm only 16 and under 5ft as well.

How many days at most do you bleed for implantation bleeding?

I know this really isn't answering your questions for a number but I think every woman is different. Some women don't bleed, some do, and some bleed a lot (though this is rare)

If you want to really know what's going on, go to the doctors and get a hormone level test. This is the only way to know what's going on with your body. If the number doubles every two days then you're pregnant . If I drops a lot then it could be a miscarriage or after a period (they would tell

you)

Good luck. I know this stuff sucks

How soon after conception can implantation bleeding occur?

Implantation bleeding can occur about 6-12 days after conception, when the fertilized egg attaches to the lining of the uterus. This is typically around the time a woman's period would have been expected. It is usually lighter and shorter in duration than a typical menstrual period.

How long does implantation pain last?

It can last anywhere from 30 minutes to a week in my experiance i had twins so mine lasted a week and the egg finally settled in i had no implantation bleeding just the cramps. i dont believe when people say it only could last up to 2 or 3 days thats not true every woman is tottally diffrent in there pregnANcies and everyones body is diffrent. so yes it could last up to a week.

If you had bleeding a week early will you get your period when it is expected?

Sometimes you can and sometimes you won't. There are some factors as to why you are bleeding a week earlier and it could be due to stress, medications you are on or birth control. Sometimes our hormones simply have a mind of their own and this can cause these symptoms. Women going into perimenopause often will have these symptoms and even miss months with no periods and suddenly get one. Peri menopause can start as young as 35 (about 2% of women) and it's usually 40 years and up. Doctors are finding the Baby Boomers are now starting their perimenopause earlier than previous generations. If it continues and you aren't on birth control then please see your doctor.

If you are having twins would implantation bleeding be heavier?

== == In theory, yes. If the twins were fraternal (from two eggs), then the eggs could implant in two different areas of the uterus and form two placentas, and, therefore, produce more implantation spotting/bleeding than just one egg would. However, if the twins were identical (from one egg), it doesn't seem like there would be more bleeding than usual. Also, many women never experience implantation bleeding, regardless of the number of embryos they are carrying.

Answer

Yes I would say so just double the amount really and you would gain weight on quickly as well and more morning sickness.

ANSWER:

From what I have read from people who have actually experienced this, it varies. Some people notice a light pink, pale red, or brown blood. It may or may not be accompanied by cramps. It can last from 1-3 days approximately. About 1/4-1/3 of pregnant women experience something that could be call implantation bleeding. It is light, may only be noticeable on toilet paper or might be a little on a panty liner but never a lot of blood.

What does implantation bleeding look like You had unsafe sex well the condom broke. and then the nex day you had light blood and then the next day you have cramps and alot of blood when you wipe?

It all depends on where in your cycle you were when you had sex and started bleeding. The bleeding could just be from the sex itself, you may have gotten a scratch or tear inside that is bleeding, you could be starting your period early or you could be experiencing implantation bleeding. If it is implantation bleeding it may be bright pink or dark brown and only enough to be considered 'spotting' and not a period. If it is heavy bleeding it is not implantation bleeding. You can take a test in 1.5 to 2 weeks. Good Luck!

How long does breakthrough bleeding last when you just started taking birth control pills and missed one four days ago and since have have been bleeding and crmping just like you do with your period?

If you just started taking the pills it is quite common for breakthrough bleeding to occur, and last for the duration of a normal period. Often it takes the body a few months to adjust to a birth control pill, and even then some types of pills work better with your body than others. I would suggest just talking to your doctor. They will most likely recommend that you see what happens and if you are still experiencing the same symptoms after using the same birth control pill for more than a few months will most likely recommend a new type of birth control pill (or possibly another method).
