Trouble code P0420 means:Catalyst system efficiency below threshold
There are many types of ballasts in the electrical industry. To get an answe, the type of ballast must be stated.
under the passenger side of the car you will need to remove the tire and lift the car up high to see it
Well there should not be a sleve in the crank snout where the seal lip rides. If there is one, then the crank has been reconnditioned/replaced, or there was damage to the snout, previously. I will recommend leaving the sleave, or replacing it with a new one if it has obtained rotational damage from the seal lip. This happens usually due to oil starvation at the lip ridding area or from a hardenned seal. The sleves may be purchased at your local autoparts and only serve to go over the damaged grove that the seal duged in. If the seal was not leaking and one is replacing the seal as maintenance or timing chain r&r. then leave the sleave in place other that that remove damaged sleve and replace with new one..Hope this helps.. Will..:)
I am far from being an expert or quasi expert but I do own a 96 Q45 and experienced a similar problem. I was helped or given advice free of charge by my local Infiniti Service Adviser. The problem had to do with the anti-lock braking system and its electrical components. There are two fairly inexpensive relays under the hood that you should try replacing first. My cost for both relays was $48.50 from Infiniti of Scottsdale, Az. (1-800-955-9181). The relays are called the ABS relay assy-valve and the relay assy-actuator. I live in Florida but I order most parts I need from Scottsdale because they are usually much cheaper. The mechanism of concern should be located under the hood at the right rear corner near the fire wall. You should see a little black plastic box mounted to the rear of a silver aluminum mechanism with a number of small metal tubes coming out of it. But you are only concerned with the black plastic box. Remove the cover and you will see the two relays I am talking about. The relays pull right out by pulling up on them. This is what I replaced and solved my problem. Calvin Bryant

If your airbag light on your 90-96 Q45 or similar year Infiniti vehicle is blinking, chances are it has been inadvertantly been set into self diagnosis mode. It does not indicate a problem with the airbag system. Unplugging the battery will NOT clear the self diagnosis status. To do this procedure, turn the vehicle on (engine not started) with the drivers side door open. Within 10 seconds of doing that, press the drivers side door switch more than 10 times within those 10 seconds. If you did the procedure correctly, the airbag light should go off. If it does not go off, it means there is a fault with the airbag system.
When I bought my 1st QX56 the Infinity dealer told me the assembly plant is in Mississippi. The website below http://www.nissanusa.com/about/corporate-info/nissan-in-north-america.html lists 300 Nissan Drive

check your break fluid, break pads, and ebrake switch! if were any other light like airbag then you would push the drivers door light swith five times with ignition on
The only method of disarming the security system is thru the door locks, if it does not disarm; this will entail a fault in the security system. First, the vehicle battery will have to be tested, a low, or shorted battery can trigger the security as well. If the battery is good, the sytem will need electrical diagnosis, which I recommend be done at the dealer, since they are more familiar with this vehicle's security system, than most independent facilities are.
I have a 1997 Q45 that should be the same. There is a pull off cover on the outside of the clear lens - I used a screwdriver to pry it off. Under it is a bolt that holds the whole thing in place. Mine was getting water in it. I dried it out and sealed it with bathroom caulk.
A CONCAVE mirror is a mirror with a reflecting surface that curves inward.
I just changed the alternator in my wifes Q45,its easy because the alternator sits right on top, there is a bracket on the left side that has to be moved so the alternator can come out,it has a tenioner just to the left with 2 screws, loose the big nut and u will see the belt loosen,3 screws hold the alternator in

Timing belt on the Infinity is probably actually a chain and quite hard to bread. If it does break, and attempt is made to restart the car, considerable damage can be done to the engine. This is because the engine valves and pistons are not timed correctly so the pistons make contact with the valves resulting in potentially significant damage.
Nissan does not install a gasket between the tstat housing and the tstat cover for this application. Use the appropriate liquid gasket sealant instead. The thermostat is located at the front of the engine, behind the water inlet from the lower radiator hose. It should not be confused with the water control valve in the water outlet housing that is located at the rear of engine..
You didn't give the year so I am assumming you have an older Q45. My answer relates to 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997 models. Well, its really quite simple. There's a black plastic cover over the headlights that are called air guides. The air guides have to be removed so that you can get to the rear of the headlights. You do not have to remove the entire headlight assembly just to change the bulds, but for the low beam bulb, it would possibly be a bit easier because of the wire retaining clip that holds the bulb in place. Each headlight assembly contains two bulbs, one for high beam and one for low beam. Once you've removed the air guides and facing the headlight. The Hi- beam bulb , you just grab it and give it about a quarter turn counterclockwise to unlatch it and pull it out of the assembly. Now you have to disconnect it from the wiring connector. Just press down on the release lever that you will see and pull them apart. If they are difficult to separate, just use a flat tip screwdriver between the two and twist the blade against the connector to wedge it back and off. Low beam bulb. In the very center of the bulb assembly will be the round shaped wiring plug. It should be encased in a rubber covering or seal. Just grab it and pull it out. Next unscrew with your hand and remove the black plastic retaining ring around the bulb hole. Removal of this plastic piece will reveal another rubber seal covering the bulb hole. From the edges, peel the rubber seal back enough so that you can see inside the mounting hole. Now you should be able to see the wire retaining spring that I mentioned earlier. Use a pair of long needle nose pliers or a screwdriver to detach the spring from its locking points on both sides. You can detach one side of the spring at a time to make it easier. Once the retaining spring is detached, the bulb pulls right out with the rubber moisture seal attached. The rubber seal can be removed from the bulb and of course you want to put it on the new replacement bulb. A lot of words, but its all quite simple, quick and easy. Calvin Bryant
