This is in regard to sunburns might br helpful....

the paraffin imitates the natural oils, creating a seal stopping water leaving the body and reduces pain by protecting sensitised nerves. both of these factors improve healing - good stuff stays in, bad stays out - that is one job of healthy skin. aloe is good coz it remoisturises but that moisture can be quickly lost as the skin can't contain fluids. so put aloe on, and then the paraffin on over the top. if there is broken skin leave out the aloe - just paraffin

Yes, this is done quite often., It is called something that is based on the word Derm or Derma- Skin oriented. I mean to look this up at the Library I am in now! the process has to be accurately matched as to Race, skin tone, etc. One does not want a snake-camouflage scheme! Still it is done. There is no more moral objection than there might be, and largely from Fringe Groups- to such things as organ donations and blood transfusions. Skin has to be closely matched, to avoid any ( snake camouflage) results. Do not confuse with tattoos.

What is the appearance of the skin at risk of tissue damage or skin that has developed pressure sores?

there are 4 stages in a pressure. sore. they are caused from lack of blood flow to a certain area of skin. stage one starts to turn red and gets soft. stage two will start breaking down the first layer of the skin. stage three, you will notice the skin being eaten away ,as you could say, like a spider bite almost without the look of the bite on top. Stage Five means there are more then 3 layers of the skin that the sore has broken down to. that is when it gets very hard to heal. A person can develop a pressure sore in as little as two hours depending on their circulation. Once they start they can break down very quickly so it is important to keep a person turned off of the same area every two hours if possible.
