I do not believe so. I tried using a headphones splitter with a mic, and just regular headphones. it did not work. also the mic just by itself didnt work. Although, you can listen to music on your ipod! i have a turtle beach x1 earforce, and 2g ipod touch. it might be different with other ipod/ headphone models! :D

Yes, sometimes they'll randomly shut off. It's a huge problem. Most of the time, they won't turn back on for a while. You can find tons of cases of this happening.

No, because Jailbreaking is legal now thanks to this act or whatever happend, and it would be hard to even shut down an ipod because it runs on wifi and not through AT&T wifi like iphones. so they can't really do anything since it's legal to jailbreak and the fact that you're using wifi.
