If the firmware update requires you to pay for it (example: 3.0 or 3.1 firmware), then yes, the iTunes gift card can be used to pay for the firmware.

All you need to do is simply unplug your ipod. Restart computer. Open iTunes. Now plug your iPod in and there ya have it ;)

An iPod Touch (3rd Gen) prices are: an 8GB=199.99; a 32GB=299.99; and a 64GB=399.99. In my personal opinion, I think Apple went a little overboard on the prices of this one, but that's just me.

I did this to my iPod Touch, but I'm pretty sure it's the same with the nano.

What happened was iTunes had me restore the software, basically go back to factory settings. What happens when you do that is you lose all your songs, photos, videos, etc. The iPod will be like new, so you will have to download all your stuff back to it. For me it was easy, because I had all of it saved on my computer. But other than losing all your stuff, nothing else, it's not broken or anything. :P

In an iPod Touch, the 2nd and 3rd generation have built-in speakers.

Generally, for any other iPod, speakers are external accessories and cannot be 'downloaded'.

In the General section of the iTunes Preferences you can select your Import Settings - such as AAC or MP3. Insert your CD into the computer and open iTunes if it is not running. The CD will be listed in the left hand pane of iTunes. Select the CD title and all the tracks will be listed. Right click on the tracks you want to import and select Create AAC (or MP3) Version. This will create a copy of the track and add it to your library. When you next connect your iPod to iTunes you can add the tracks from your library as required.
