I would definitely NOT use steel shot! the FLUES Ithaca was manufactured between 1908 and 1926. You should be OK with anything 3 dram or lower powder charge. 2 3/4" medium loads in any shot size from 9# to BB.

About $400 with the B&L collectible scope. The scope has tapered sights and is really nice but they only go to8 power, making them lousy for a 22-250. otherwise a real shooter, but no parts are available

The Ithaca LSA-55 and LSA-65 are both products of Tikka, which is a Finnish arms manufacturer.

The LSA-65 was their long action, 30-06 etc, whereas the LSA-55 was their short action, 308's etc.

Excellent rifles, as are all of Tikka's rifles. Very hard to find parts for, but well worth it if you have one. They do not sell for very high prices, so this is an excellent way to get yourself a discount Tikka...as long as you dont need parts.

As always - it depends. This gun was made between 1922 - 1937, and there were about 4,500 of them made. There is a nice write up on them in the 2006 Standard Catalog of Firearms on pages 630-31. According to it, there was a Model A and a Model B. For the "A" in excellent condition they list $1500, and $1300 for the "B". Very Good, Good, Fair and Poor for the "A" are $1,000, $900, $750, and $550 respectively; for the "B" they are $950, $750, $550, and $450. Model A serial numbers run from 343336 to 398365; "B"s from 425000 to 464699. Hope this helps! I'd love to see one, as I have only seen them in pictures. Dave
