Why do you think Jesus sweat blood while praying?

Jesus sweat blood while praying because of the anguish he felt over this impending death. When someone sweats blood, it's called hematidrosis. Extreme stress can cause tiny capillaries in the sweat glands to rupture and this causes sweat and blood to mix. This makes the skin extremely sensitive and so Jesus would have felt even more pain than normal when he was beaten before his crucifixion. See http://www.apologeticspress.org/articles/2223 to read more. Hope this helps. Blessings... (Also, the book The Case for Christ does an excellent job at explaining what the crucifixion would have been like for Jesus pp.258-267.)

Did Jesus raise Jairus' daughter from the dead?

Another answer from our community:

According to Matthew, the daughter of Jairus is already dead. Matthew 9:18.

According to Mark 5:23 & Luke 8:41-42, Jesus merely healed the sick.

Another answer

This incident is recorded in the three synoptic Gospels, Matthew Mark and Luke.

These accounts listed above are from the first request for help to the end. In between, while on the way to Jairus' home there was an incident where Jesus performed another healing which delayed Him slightly. This is also mentioned in all three accounts.

Was She Dead?

Probably the first thing which needs to be established is whether in fact she was dead. The verses below can be read regarding this:

Matthew 9:18: (King James Version)

18While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshiped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.

Mark 5:35:

35While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?

Luke 8:49:

49While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.

Matthew 9:23-24:

23And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,

24He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.

Mark has 2 verses almost identical here to Matthew. see Mark 5:38-40

Luke 8:52-53

52And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.

53And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.

In relation to this second group of verses which describe the scene immediately before the raising of Jairus' daughter it may help to understand that in those days (and this is still done in some cultures today) there were people who would be paid mourners, to express grief on behalf of the family. Since the girl had evidently died before Jesus arrived these were already 'on the job.' Such people would not and could not (this would have been the height of insults) begin unless the person was actually dead.

Thus they all knew she was dead, which may explain why they 'laughed Him to scorn.'

In regard to the death, we must remember that death was a first-hand experience for people in those days with little medical treatments that we have today - but they knew it when they saw it. There is not one dissenting voice in this regard, although we may have expected this if there was any doubt.

Jesus most certainly raised Jairus' daughter from the dead. The Biblical record is unanimous in stating that she was dead. It is also unanimous in stating that Jesus raised her from death.

How did Naomi interact with God?

Naomi was of the people of Israel and as such was one of God's chosen people, and though she initially mourned and bewailed her fate at the hands of God when God took away her husband and two sons; her daughter-in-law, Ruth, brought her comfort and God's blessing when she married Boaz and brought up Ruth's son, Obed. (Ruth 4.16)

So I reckon her final relationship with God is peace.

How long did Paul spend in Arabia?

A:In Galatians 1:15-2:1, Paul said that after he felt called to preach Christianity, he travelled to Arabia, then Damascus (bypassing Jerusalem), Jerusalem, then Syria and Cilicia, and back to Jerusalem. There are some important differences here, compared to the account in Acts of the Apostles, and Acts should be put out of mind when reading the epistles.

Paul does not say how long he spent in Arabia, although he mentions how long he spent in some other places. Since he does not explain the trip to Arabia nor show any further interest in that region, we can speculate that the journey was only a short one. 'Arabia' usually meant the area around the city of Petra, capital of the Nabateans, not the entire Arabian peninsula as we would assume today. At that time in history, King Aretas of the Nabateans had been given control of the city of Damascus by the Romans. It is possible that Paul visited Arabia - Petra- in order to obtain permission from the king for him to preach to the gentiles of Damascus, where he hurried immediately afterwards, not even stopping in Jerusalem. Everything points to just a short visit to Arabia.

What does Satan ask Jesus to do in the desert?

In the 4th chapter of both Matthew and Luke we find the two accounts of Jesus' "temptation" by Satan. In the accounts, Satan "twists the meaning and intent of the Scriptures" to try to get Jesus to "sin" [to disobey the Commandments - I John 3:4]. But Jesus' response is to "quote Scripture" [the TRUTH - John 17:17] right back at him in the True Spirit of their intent.

How and why did Jesus call Judas?

Thomas the fisherman and Judas the wanderer met Jesus and the apostles at the fisher-boat landing at Tarichea, and Thomas led the party to his near-by home. Philip now presented Thomas as his nominee for apostleship and Nathaniel presented Judas Iscariot the Judean, for similar honors. Jesus looked upon Thomas and said: "Thomas, you lack faith; nevertheless, I receive you. Follow me."

To Judas Iscariot the Master said: "Judas, we are all of one flesh, and as I receive you into our midst, I pray that you will always be loyal to your Galilean brethren. Follow me."

What did Jesus mean when he said For all who take the sword will perish by the sword?

Matthew 26:52 [to Peter] "Put your sword back in its place," Jesus said to him, "for all who draw the sword will die by the sword."

Is Jesus god or Allah?

Allah is the Arabic and Muslim name of God in English. Islam is a monotheistic religion. Accordingly, Muslims believe in one and only one God. God worshiped by Muslims is the same God, the Creator, worshiped by Jews and Christians. He is called in Arabic Allah. Even Arabic Christians and Jews Have God written in their Arabic Holy books as Allah. Christians who believe that Jesus is son of God say it in Arabic as 'Isa ibn Allah' where Jesus is called Isa in Arabic,. son is Ibn in Arabic, and God is Allah in Arabic. Also said by Arabic Christians 'Allah Al-Ab' that means in English 'God the father'.

Allah is the one and only one God to be worshiped without partner, associate, companion, son, father, or any resemblance.

Allah is the only God to prayed for and requested for forgiving our sins and mistakes, for supporting us in our life, for leading us to the right path, and for admitting us in His paradise and saving us from the Hell fire.

Why is it important to know Jesus?

He loves you, He died for you, and He wants to save you. - 1John 5:20 "And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life".

What groups did jesus challange to think differently?

Jesus helped everyone by dying on the cross for our sins. He challenged the Jewish people to think differently especially the Pharisees and Sadducees who were too caught up in the details of realize that Christ was the son of God. They had been expecting a warrior not a peacemaker and the fact that Christ was not a warrior challenged them to think differently.

Should Christians socialize with non-Christians?

By simply following Jesus' instructions - He is the savior of all mankind:

Matthew 7:12New King James Version (NKJV)

12 Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Why did Jesus stay in the temple at 12?

Luke 2:41-51 describes that event--Jesus was supposed to return with his parents to Nazareth after the Feast of the Passover at Jerusalem. It was custom back then to travel with other people in big herds, with children in a group separate from the parents, so that explains why his parents took so long to realize he was gone.

When they go back and find him, Mary said, "Son, why have you treated us so? Behold, your father and I have been searching for you in great distress." He said, "Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?" And they did not understand the saying that he spoke to them. And he went down with them and came to Nazareth and was submissive to them.

Neither Jesus nor his parents did anything wrong. His parents did nothing wrong, and Jesus can't be wrong because that would be against God's nature and he wasn't scolded for doing anything wrong. It's not entirely clear what was going on in Jesus' head, but you can say with confidence that nobody did anything wrong.

I think this is like an awkward mishap--a natural quirk in a healthy relationship. Romans 8:22 says " For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now." You might say that because relationships are part of creation, they too are groaning for redemption, being affected by the fall.

As far as the actual intent of including the passage--Luke may have included it to mark the closure of Jesus' childhood before his ministry begins. His infancy begins and ends in the temple. The boy Jesus said, "I must be in my Father's house." Jesus and the temple have an apparently strong connection.

What guided the 3 wise men to infant Jesus?

The Bible say Mary, Joseph, and Jesus were in a house, not a stable. When they discovered the new Star, they told Herod, and when they searched for him, the thought that he would be somewhere big like Jerusalem, not somewhere like Bethlehem. So scholars say approx. 2 years later, right before they moved to Egypt, in a house.

What are some reasons god became man?

First of all, we must be very clear, that: Jehovah God, The Almighty, The Creator - - did NOT become man.

Instead, Jehovah God sent his only-begotten SON to earth, to become a human being.

Secondly, there are NOT 4 reasons why Jesus became a man.

Provided is the following explanation:

All angels are called: 'gods'; because they are 'spirit creatures'; just as their Creator is a 'spirit being'. In that sense Jesus too is a 'god'. (The word 'god' is not as big a deal as the Trinitarians would like you to believe. It's just a 'designation' of their nature.) So yes in that sense Jesus as an 'angel / god' came to earth as a 'man-person'.

REASON?: Since we come from Adam (a human person); and since Adam sinned; we all inherited 'sin' from Adam. Adam sold the future generations within his loins into 'slavery'.

Since we were 'sold'; we needed to be 'repurchased' back out of this 'slavery'. In order to redeem us from 'sin', it would take another 'human' person, to 'give' his life as the 'ransom' price, to pay for our sins. It required an exact 'equal' to Adam; -- a second Adam (or perfect human person like Adam).

Justice requires 'like for like'. The scales of Justice needed to have a 'balance'.

Christ Jesus proved to be that 'ransom' price.

If Adam had not sinned, there would be NO REASON for anyone to become a man.

There were OTHER things that Jesus accomplished by his coming to earth - - but those are NOT THE ULTIMATE REASONS he came here. There are NOT 4 REASONS why Jesus became a man. There is only one reason. But there were 'other things' accomplished. (Kind-of-like hitting 4 birds with one stone - - the purpose was NOT to hit 4 birds, but just to hit ONE bird. When you hit the ONE bird you're trying to hit - - the other 3 birds are simply 'collateral benefits'.)
