What are the name of mountains where Jesus taught?
Jesus took a few disciples to a mountain call Mount of Transfiguration. Where the two prophets of old prophet Elijah and prophet Moses were seen by the disciples.
the closest you can come there is when he was baptised by John the Baptist. Keep in mind of coarse that Jesus was Jewish an had also gone through all the rituals and traditions of the Jewish faith.
What is an example of a prayer with math words?
A Mathematician Prayer
Lord, teach me to number my days
And graph them, according to your ways
Trusting you, to base me in your plan
To complement, your perfect diagram
Subtract the points you do not want from me
But add the values you have set at me
Divide the dividends I possess accordingly
So I can multiply them systematically.
Draw the lines, I have to follow
Guide me properly, with your arrow
Because sometimes I tend to be irrational
Yet, all the while you want me to be rational.
Well, I learn that life is like a slope
With its ascents and descents, that I must cope
Teaching me variables of life
Is just like solving problem of the times
Life is indeed an infinite equation
Perfected by your internal computation
And I, only a minuscule yet projection
Give thanks and praise your Almighty creation.
Amen
What was the crib the Christ was born?
the story of Jesus' birth is remembered with a crib in a church to remind us in what environment was he born. the church teaches us that he emptied himself from his greatness in heaven and was borm humbly in a poor stable which actually belongs to farm animals.
What prayer did Jesus give the apostles when they asked him to teach them to pray?
According to Matthew 6:5-6 KJV
And when thou pray, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou pray, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which sees in secret shall reward thee openly.
To what groups did Paul want to spread the teachings of Jesus?
1 Corinthians 9:19-21 - For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more; and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law; to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.[NKJV]
This is not known. as there are no records of that time. However boys were traditionally circumcised and named on the eighth day after their birth and it was usual done by their father. It would be reasonable to assume Joseph did the circumcision.
Do the epistles tell us the story of Jesus' life?
What is more important Jesus birth or his death?
Answer:
BOTH are important. Contrary to popular belief, JESUS' BLOOD (His death) DOESN'T SAVE US... it "justifies" us. It's the fact that He is now ALIVE that "saves" us.
"...God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being NOW JUSTIFIED BY HIS BLOOD, we SHALL BE SAVED (future tense) from wrath through Him. For if, when we were enemies, WE WERE RECONCILED TO GOD BY THE DEATH OF HIS SON, much more, being reconciled, WE SHALL BE SAVED BY HIS LIFE." (Rom.5:8-10)
We could never achieve eternal life until, first, we have all of our PAST SINS blotted out by the POWER of Jesus' blood... and the penalty of death for having transgressed God's Commandments (which is what sin is) - revoked.
"...Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: whom God hath set fort to be a propitiation through FAITH IN HIS BLOOD, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins THAT ARE PAST, through the forebearance of God..." (Rom.3:24-25).
All of mankind is living on "death row" for breaking God's law... but the Governor is able to "PARDON" anyone who repents of breaking the law via the shed blood of God's Son.
But, once forgiven... once pardoned by the Governor - the new lease on life we are given is EXPECTED TO BE LIVED WITHIN THE LAW.
And Jesus living in us - "within the law," in accordance with the Word of God - BECOMES OUR NEW LIFE.
Jesus' blood justifies us with the law. But we can't hang around at the foot of His "stauros" (cross) where is only death. He rose again... and a vital new life is to be lived IN HIM.
His death AND resurrection are BOTH VITALLY IMPORTANT! If His death saved us... there would be no purpose to resurrect.
"For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: and if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; YE ARE YET IN YOUR SINS." (I Cor.15:16-17)
When did jesus institute Passover?
Passover, known to Jews as Pesach, is made a mandatory annual event in the Bible (Leviticus 23:5) and as such was established in ancient times. Although it is impossible to put a precise date on the Exodus, from which the holiday originates, it seems evident that it was already an honoured and ancient tradition by the time that the Torah was written down, possibly between 538-334 BCE (BC).
Bible scholars, who have estimated the dates of various events by looking at the lifespans of biblical characters, place the date of the Exodus to around 1447 BCE. However, there is no physical evidence, and since it is generally agreed nowadays that Old Testament figures (such as Methuselah, 969 years) did not live for as long as the texts claim there are various conflicting modern attempts at dating the Hebrews' escape from slavery in Egypt. The so-called Late Exodus theory dates the event to between 1250-1200 BCE, while Early Exodus proponents claim 1440 BCE. Some Early Exodus believers also argue that there were in fact two Exoduses: the first, in 1628 BCE, was in response to a volcanic eruption in Minoa which is thought to have caused most of the biblical Plagues. The second is then said to have taken place in 1450 BCE.
If one of these dates is correct, we can assume that Pesach was established as an annual festival either that same year or very soon thereafter.
Why do historians doubt Jesus' existence?
Historians usually accept that a person mentioned in ancient texts really did exist, unless there is good reason to believe otherwise. Jesus is mentioned in the gospels, so most historians accept by default that he existed, although there is no actual proof of his existence. Nevertheless, a growing minority of historians are beginning to question the historicity of Jesus of Nazareth.
While Jesus was on the cross, he stated that he was thirsty. There was a jar of wine vinegar there so one of the guards soaked some on a sponge and gave it to Jesus to drink. There may not have been anything else to drink there or, since the Roman guards were very cruel, they just wanted Jesus to suffer more. What the significance of the wine vinegar is I don't know.
All four of the Gospels mention this act.
Matthew 27:48
Mark 15:36
Luke 23:36
John 19:29
Since the passage in John says that there was a jar of wine vinegar there, I assume that it was used for those on the cross as depicted.
Did the shepherds bring Jesus gifts?
There is no scriptural reference of the shepherds giving any worldly gifts. They gave Him something much more precious, and that was their recognition that he was someone special. They even left their sheep to go and see Him. They took notice of what the angel said to them and did not shrug it off as not really have happened. They even knelt before Him and worshipped Him.
Why does God want us to obey Him?
As you Will recall God in creation of the world made everything good, even man. But Satan came to man and caused Adam and Eve to sin. From then on all men were born sinners and did not repent and soon God destroyed the earth with a flood, saving only Noah and his family as they were the only ones on earth that believed in God.
Since that time man has continued to sin and not repent with the exception of a godly line that came through one of Noah's sons.
2000 years ago Jesus came into the world and died for man's sin, but man has the responsibility to accept Jesus, repent of their sins and follow after and obey Him. Some have done this and are pleasing to God. The remainder has shunned God and continually sin. Sin is approaching the point that God again wants to destroy the world.
But this time many people obey God and follow His Son, Jesus Christ. They will be taken out of this world and go to heaven while all the unbelievers will face judgment and go to hell.
This is why God wants us to obey Him. He loves us and wants the best for us, but God can not condone sin and so the unbelievers are not pleasing to God and He will send them to hell.
How many kings did Joshua conquer?
Joshua only conquered part of one land, although inhabited by various tribes or nations or 'people groups'(whatever term one prefers). Land areas outside of the land had already been conquered 'on the way in', such as what would now be termed as Northern Egypt and across the eastern side of the Jordan River in what is now the nation of Jordan. Moses was the leader of the nation at this time, prior to the entry into Canaan, although Joshua was his 'right hand man' in terms of military matters.
The land Joshua partly conquered was called Canaan, later Palestine, and today Israel.
The only cities which the Bible records that were destroyed by Joshua as part of this conquest were Jericho, Ai, and Hazor. The first and the last have evidence of significant destruction at around the relevant time period, as attested by archaeology. The correct site of biblical Ai is still a matter of some discussion, although archaeologists know that materials were often re-used and sites scraped clean before rebuilding or reoccupation. So, no remains of what was only a small city anyway would not be surprising or relevant to the conquest as a whole.
It is also recorded that the Israelites were to 'live in cities you did not build'. This means that they were not coming to slash and burn with a scorched earth policy but to live in the land, which is why much was left intact. It is also recorded that they lived in tents for quite some years after the original occupation.
The main area of conquest by Joshua in the land of Canaan was along the central highlands.
The first Messianic Prophecy was in Genesis chapter 3, verse 15, when Our Heavenly Father Warned the Serpent that he would make an Enmity between the Serpent & the Woman (Mary) & her Seed (Christ).
It was a manger, which is used for containing hay for animals to eat.
What does the resurrection of Jesus Christ mean?
The earliest manuscripts of Mark's Gospel end at verse 16:8, with the young man saying that Jesus is risen, and the women fleeing in terror, telling no one. Clearly the resurrection is important, because the "Long Ending" (verses 16:9-25) was added much later to provide resurrection appearances.
Although each gospel provides quite different accounts of just what happened after the resurrection of Jesus, Christians believe that the resurrection means that Jesus is the Son of God.
Could Jesus cook a borito so hot that he himself couldn't eat it?
It depends on your beliefs.
A little more helpful answer:Most christian religions believe Jesus is the son of god. Born on earth to be human and live and die for our sins.So yes, as a normal human he could cook something to hot for him to eat. But remember its kind of moot point, Jesus rules beside his father in Heaven.
Why Jesus Christ was taken to divide the time to be AD and BC?
The terms AD and BC stand for "Anno Domini" and "before Christ". These were terms developed by the Catholic church when developing the Gregorian calendar in the sixth century.
"Anno Domini" does not mean "after death", but "in the year (anno) of our Lord (Domini)". So when Jesus was, say, 12 years old, that would have been 12 AD.
But modern scholarship has shown that the church made a mistake when calculating the year of Jesus' birth. It appears that he was actually born 4-6 years earlier than the calendar says.
What is God's punishment for people who sin?
As an example Jesus said: "Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung round his neck and he were thrown into the sea. And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire. And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life lame than with two feet to be thrown into hell. And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out; it is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell, where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched. For every one will be salted with fire." Mk 9:36-45
