The killer of John Lennon was born May 19, 1955 and remains imprisoned. Although he has served the minimum of 20 years since his 1981 conviction, he has been denied parole 9 times between 2001 and 2015.

Yes he was a very kind man. He fought for peace and equality. He wasn't the best father in the 60's but he turned himself around when he opened his life to peace.

In 1965 Yoko Ono was already married to Anthony Cox.

- Yoko Ono married composer Toshi Ichiyanagi in 1956. They divorced in 1962.

- On November 28 of 1962 Ono married an American named Anthony Cox. The first wedding was not legal so they married again on June 6 of 1963. They divorced on February 2, 1969.

John used his 360 Rickenbacker the longest - from the Sullivan show through Shea 65. It was also the guitar that Julian wanted after John died - but Yoko gave it to Sean! (Lennon had earlier given Julian another Rickenbacker, but it was stolen by a visitor to the house Julian shared with his mother Cynthia.)

Lennon didn't intend to meet Yoko Ono at first. A friend of Lennon's, John Dunbar, co-owned an art gallery where Ono put on a display of her works. The fact that many of her "artworks" were basically sight gags, and carried a positive message, made Lennon want to get better acquainted with the artist.

Others admired the stark confessional songs on John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band, or his work on Imagine (his best-selling solo album), or Walls And Bridges, or his 70s-mode 50s remakes on Rock 'n' Roll. Milk And Honey also has its fans.

Chapman fired 6 shots one missed two hit his left shoulder and two more hit his back and one hit his aorta causeing maximum damage to his organs he died on the way to the hospital

Chapman did it because he wanted to gain lennons fame by killing him

In the spring of 1965, probably in April or May, Lennon and his wife Cynthia, and George Harrison and his wife Pattie were at the home of a doctor who was a friend of theirs. He spiked there coffee with LSD.

I told Sean what happened. I showed him the picture of his father on the cover of the paper and explained the situation. I took Sean to the spot where John lay after he was shot. Sean wanted to know why the person shot John if he liked John. I explained that he was probably a confused person. Sean said we should find out if he was confused or if he really had meant to kill John. I said that was up to the court. He asked what court - a tennis court or a basketball court? That's how Sean used to talk to his father. They were buddies. John would have been proud of Sean if he had heard this. Sean cried later. He also said, "Now Daddy is part of God. I guess when you die you become much more bigger because you're part of everything."

I don't have much more to add to Sean's statement. The silent vigil will take place on December 14th at 2p.m. for ten minutes. Our thoughts will be with you.
