The battery may have overheated. If the bottom is hot, Thats usually the problem. Also if you left it on charge and didnt unplug it for a long time, it may have short circuted. If this occured, you need a new battery. If its overheated, leave it alone for awhile.

A standard Kindle has a very good refresh rate for an electronic reader, and will display books beautifully, but it can't show you video. You would have to get the upgraded Kindle Fire, which has more tablet like functionality. I am adding to this answer, I have a Kindle fire original and hdx and they both stream movies from Amazon Prime and Netflix and You Tube, there is no room or need to have the video in the Kindle memory when so many are available online as long as you have a WIFI connection avaiilable

it depends on how much damage there is because if it's a lot then you can't really if it goes into the hardware then its gonna b like a couple 100 bucks more because it is ill have to repair all of the inside of the kindle 2 but if there's just if it's just the screen is cracked then it's only not gonna be able to b very much.

i have a kobo and for me,it is better than a kindle because it can hold more books, it is more quick and speedy,you can have more colours like blue or purple,i have a blue one unlike kindle which has only grey s the colour. you can also read some Free books! you can both go on internet but kobos is more well connected and more quicker.kobo is very cheap and is alot cheaper than kindle the cheapiest kobo is at wh smiths brent cross 99.99 pounds what a bargain!

I'm not going to be really scientific her, but a Kindle touch has only two buttons, one on the bottom to turn on/off, and one in the center of the bottom surrounding plastic. Meanwhile, regular Kindles have either 4 buttons, one on bottom to turn on/off, one in center of the bottom plastic, and 2 right beside that center button so you can scroll pages, etc. Other versions of the Kindle (and Nook) have keyboards that take up about 3 inches of the bottom plastic (this causes the screen to be smaller) that have numbers and letters on it.
