Lake Norman was made to provide power to the Piedmont region of North Carolina. It was created in 1963 as part of the construction of the Cowans Ford Dam by Duke Power.

Although Bull Sharks could make it to Lake Michigan, the water in the lake is far too cold to sustain a tropical fish Like the Bull Shark. Some smaller lakes in the area, Browns lake in Racine county for instance, have had tropical fish such as piranha sighted and even caught with in them, but this was most likely due to some one releasing the fish into the lake and not because of some self sustaining population.

Stateline is on the beach of Lake Tahoe. On the North and South Shore of Lake Tahoe, the locals refer to Stateline as the point where the Casinos begin, coming from the California side, or where they end going the other way. In North Shore, there are fewer casinos but they are essentially on the water's edge and across the street. At South Shore they are a couple hundred yards from water's edge. The South Shore location is officially known as "Stateline, NV" and has the wider range of recreational opportunities of the two, (Skiing, larger and newer casinos, Golf, camping, hiking, etc. Something for every taste and every season).
