Every computer in the world (connected to the internet, that is) has a special "number" called an "IP Address" sortof like a phone number, or physical address. When your computer is connected to a p2p program (in this case, limewire) People you download music from, and also people who download music from you, can see your IP Address. Once they have that address you can go to the internet and pin-point the exact location of the IP Address (your physical address) Thus, finding you, thus considering yourself...."Caught"....so if you don't want to get caught (probably a good thing) then either, 1. Dont download off of limewire 2. Invent a way to block your IP Address.....or 3. ....DONT DOWNLOAD!!! or 4. Go to websites like YouTube and find the song you want, then RECORD it yourself...and then dont put it in a shared folder that other people have access to.

Actually, you a very very very slim chance of ever getting caught if you:

1. create a new folder, and select limewire to share ONLY that folder

2. create a new folder, and select limewire to download ONLY to that folder.

3. throw a bunch of random stuff in the folder to be shared (like make a bunch of word documents with gibberish or something that isn't illegal to share)

It is still illegal to download pirated music, but you likely won't get in trouble. Only people who share the stuff regularly get caught doing anything.

Yes. If you download something from limewire to avoid buying it, you are violating copyright. If you own the song already, having the CD or having purchased it from a vendor, then there is no need to download it.

It is not illegal for anyone to use Limewire. It is simply illegal to download copyrighted files on Limewire, and the only people who may be charged for this is the original downloader. When other Limewire users download the existing file, it is simply called "file sharing," and it is most definetly not illegal.

Soooo....no, no one has been prosecuted for using Limewire-just for downloading coyrighted files on to Limewire. If you aren't copyrighting anything, you have not broken the law, and have simply participated in file sharing.

More than likely, you are blocked by a firewall, either by your network server, or even the router that you are going through to get to the internet. Try turning off the Windows Firewall by going through the Control Panel and click on the icon "Windows Firewall". Good luck.

yes you can use k-lite pro but you have to pay for it and it is just as illegal as limewire.

go to tools> options> sharing> advanced and delete everything in the extensions section. then go to tool> options> uploads> basic. then set the upload bandwidth to zero then go to tools> options> uploads> slots. then ste the max uploads per person and the max upload slots to zero

I would imagine not and for 2 reasons. First and foremost (not necessarily my belief) is the legal aspect of the programs. Peer to peer programs are under constant scrutiny by various trade groups especially the RIAA who always blame slacking CD sales and online purchase downloads due to such programs. For that reason it would probably be near impossible to download or install on a phone simply because the provider could get in hot legal water for "allowing" their subscribers access to free downloads. Secondly, the download speeds would probably not be that great unless you have a high end broadband service but that's usually reserved for people with laptops.

Limewire is illegal and so are songs that are downloaded off the Internet so I suggest if you have dowloaded a song from the Internet, you should delete it but that's my opinion.

First off in my opinion you have poor virus protection. It is a resource hog and not one of the best to start with. I will probably get slammed for that statement, but it is my opinion based on computers I have seen get a virus while running Norton. Limewire is a peer to peer sharing program. Anytime you share files, there is always the possibility of getting a Virus, Trojan, Spyware, etc. If you insist, just remember to always save the file to a dedicated downloads folder. Scan that file with Norton before you ever move it to your music files. Why run a red light or keep a wallet you find instead of turning it in? Just because something's illegal or wrong doesn't mean people won't do it. Grabbing music from the internet is so easy that it's hard to resist for a lot or people. The government is getting hip to this and is beginning to prosecute the biggest offenders.

look in your library folder on limewire. also try searching for the downloaded file by using windows search for files or folders. the downloaded files may be stored in a destnation folder like my documents that you overlooked

LIMEWIRE WILL PULL UP ALL MATCHES OR CLOSE MATCHES. ONCE YOU FOUND WHAT YOU WANT YOU HIGHLIGHT THAT ONE AND PRSS THE DOWNLOAD BUTTON. THE SONG OR MOVIE WILL THEN APPEAR ON THE BOTTOM OF LIMEWIRE AND SHOW YOU THE PROGRESS OF THE DOWNLOAD. ONCE IT IS DOWNLOADED IT WILL BE IN YOUR LIBRARY AND IN YOUR SHARED MUSIC FOLDER.
