It depends on the version of Limewire that you compare to frostwire. Frostwire has many features of Limewire Pro such as full time turbo charged downloads. Limewire has two versions the free version and the paid version with additional features while Frostwire only has a free version. Frostwire has a chat feature which both versions of Limewire lack but Limewire has an instant messenger.

ok "bearshare" sucks cause u have to pay to download entire songs. "frostwire" is similar to lime wire except music files are not transfred directly to itunes and they have to be manually moved into the itunes libary also frostwire seems to have a low return rate and always tells me i need more sources to download the song. Limewire is the best but is currently down i ve heard u can download older versions of limewire just fine i have yet to try

A p2p server is not illegal, which is what limewire is.Limewire has numerous things you can download, not just music. Downloading and sharing copywriiten music is illegal, however limewire is not neccessarily meant for that, although its obviously what it is used for. It's kind of like this, its not illegal to have a camera, and its not illegal to have naked children in your house,(if their your own), but if you video tape your kids naked and sell it, then its illegal (child pornography). I know that's a bad example but its all I can think of for now. Limewire itself is not illegal, however, its up to you to decide if your going to commit illegal acts with the software.
