What causes biapical pleural parenchymal scarring?

Pleural parenchymal scarring is a type of scarring that occurs in the lining of the lungs. It can result from an injury to the lung or infections like tuberculosis or pneumonia. Often the infection or injury has healed but leaves behind some scar tissue. The term biapical indicates that the precise location of the scarring is at the upper tips of the lungs. Radiologists can see evidence of this type of scarring in MRI images and CT scans. While circumstances may indicate the need for further action, quite often doctors decide to simply monitor the condition for possible changes.

There are portable, usually called bedside spirometers, but they have limited lung values. If your dr sends you to a PFT pulmonary function testing lab. The tests there are comprehensive but not invasie. no needles or anything. There is a clear plastic box you sit upright in and breathe into a tube while being prompted by a pft pulmonary function tech.. They cal it body box. its very accurate becasue it measures the air in the box too. so whatever you breathe into the tube the the exhaled volume is accurate. your question.what is the advantage. The value in a test such as this holding onto the results of it. It will diagnose the severity of either and obstructive or resrtictive lung disease. so your resullts are filed away, the dr can compare. if you have a lung disease. and u apply for an assembly line worker job and they want you to take a test, they are only coveing their back side from any future lawsuits where 20 years later that new emply filed a lawsuit claiming injusry form inhaling noxious fumes................claiming injuries happened on the job..................meanwhile the they still have your pft before u started to prove that you already had lung disease.

In the lungs the blood gets rid of the?

Homework question?

Well, I am sure you know we breath in oxygen and it enters the blood in the lungs. That oxygen is used in your cells to turn food into energy in a process called cellular respiration. When this process uses oxygen we call it aerobic respiration (meaning "with air") The part of the process that uses the oxygen is the Kreb's cycle. The process produces a waste gas that is eliminated in the lungs at the same time the oxygen enters. What you need to ask yourself is...what is the opposite of oxygen? A hint, plants do it the other way around, they breathe in ______ and the waste they produce is oxygen.

Hope this helps!
