If you're referring to the MacBook Pro's optical drive, those made mid-2012 or earlier and are non-Retina reside hidden either in the front or the side. MacBook Pro Retina versions don't have an optical drive.

As there is no built in DVD drive in the MacBook Air your options are: - purchase a separate DVD drive to plug-in to the computer - wirelessly connect to another computer (Mac OS or WIndows) which is able to share their DVD drive. - join the 21st century and watch a movie from online sources such as iTunes.

Apple's configuration options for the MacBook go up to a 500GB (5400-rpm) hard drive. The problem will be finding a suitable 2.5" 1TB drive. There is a kit available that gives you 2 500 GB drives which replaces the MacBook's optical drive with a second 500GB drive giving you 1TB.

MacBook is Good portable computers. If you want a desktop that is the best a Mac Pro i the best out of all the Macs. But if you want something simple and not to high tech then a MacBook is the way to go.

I think it's way easier to understand a Macbook than a PC. Every PC that this family has owned has become cluttered with photos, games, apps and get SUPER slow to deal with. We've had Macs that have lasted 4 years and they're fine.

It's a good idea to have an external hard drive. If someone's worried about spoiling someone else's data having your own drive stops this. You can have your own study computer, assignments are easily complete and in way less time than with a PC. I'm certainly not against it.

The MacBook is DEFIANTLY better! In fact, I am using one right now! It is the BEST computer EVER! Plus the dell inspiration 1525 has the loudest sounds coming out of it. The MacBook is sleek, it works fast, and it is very easy to use! Sometimes dell can be slow. After using a Mac, I don't want to go back to using a boring old pc.

I wouldn't recommend those websites, many of them trade your information to third parties for a huge profit. Then they give you less than 1/8 with the prize you receive. These third parties could be felons for all you know.

You're not harming the mac by playing the game. If it's getting unusually hot - there must be another reason. Take it back to where you bought it - and have them check it over (maybe by recreating your actions). Make sure you are not blocking the cooling vents.

yes... Just double click on the file in Finder and it will open with the built-in program called Preview. It will open with Preview unless you have Adobe Reader installed.

The little icon that looks like a house is the 'Home' icon.

On a Mac, 'Home' is the folder for the current user. Each user will have a different 'Home' folder. User home folders are inside the USERS folder on the start up disk.

Safari can store a 'Home Page' which is the page that will appear when Safari is opened. It can be set to any URL the user wants in Safari Preferences. Clicking the home icon will open the specified URL. To put the home icon on the Safari menu bar, click 'View' => Customize Toolbar, and drag the little house to where you want it.

I don't really have enough experience to say so accurately, but I've kept a hard case on my Macbook Pro, taking it on and off occasionally, and so-far I haven't seen any sign of damage. I safely can say that it depends on what brand of case you buy. When browsing online, watch the ratings and look for negative reviews of the cases damaging their computer.

The Clipboard is part of the operating system. You don't need to launch it.

The clipboard can copy, cut, and paste.

To copy, select something and press command c

To paste, put the cursor where you want something, and press command v

To use the Find/Replace function in MS Word, press command f, then click the replace button. A window will open where you insert words to find and words to replace them with. The advanced button will allow you to replace styles as well.

The URL bar is part of your web browser not the Mac OS so you should be able to right click (Option click) on the header of the web page and deselect the check mark for hiding the "Tool Bar".

The MacBook's DVD Player software will play all standard DVDs inserted into the DVD drive on the side of the MacBook.

You should try re-installing the software that came with your external hard drive. Or, you can simply turn off your har drive manually after your shut down your Mac. If you are worried that you may cause data damage if you disconnect your external hard drive from your laptop before it stops processing, as long as your MacBook Pro is completely shut down and turned off, no data is transferring between that and your hard drive so it should be safe to manually disconnect it.

You would have to log in as the other account holder.

Or you can ask the admin/owner to select the "Install to All Accounts" option when installing any application.
