What type of nail polish remover do you use taking artificial nails off?

I don't think there's much of a difference between them. All of them contain over 90 percent acetone with some minor ingredients that do who-knows-what. Pro nail techs generally use plain acetone they buy from a beauty supply or from a hardware store. So...if you like the idea of a nail polish remover that comes from a nail polish remover company, go to the drugstore and choose your favorite color of it. If you just want to strip the polish from your nails as cheap as possible, go to Home Depot or Lowe's and buy a quart of acetone.

Can you make nail polish with markers?

1. Remove ALL your old polish.

2. Soak your fingertips to soften your cuticles.

3. Push back and clip your cuticles.

4. Dry your hands and apply hand lotion.

5. Use clippers and files to shape your nails.

6. Use a buffing stick to remove the ridges and make your nails glossy. (They use a little hand-held drill to do this, but you probably don't have one.) After everything's done, wipe down your nails with a cotton square soaked in nail polish remover.

7. Apply one coat of base coat to your nails. Let this dry! If you polish over it before it's dry, your nails will have bubbles.

8. Apply two coats of color polish, allowing each to dry before coating over it.

9. Apply one coat of top coat. Allow it to dry for at least an hour to harden the whole polish system before you do anything with your hands.

Can you die if you wash your mouth out if you tasted nail polish remover?

It depends on what the nail polish remover is.

Most nail polish remover I'm familiar with is primarily a mixture of acetone, ethyl acetate, and/or 2-propanol. Ethyl acetate is pretty harmless; acetone and 2-propanol are a bit more of a problem, but "a tiny bit" is unlikely to kill you.

Some nail polish remover contains acetonitrile, which isn't terribly toxic itself but tends to be metabolized to cyanide, which is, well, cyanide. If you find yourself feeling ill afterward (breathing difficulties, slow heart rate, nausea, vomiting) you should definitely call the poison control center and/or head for the nearest emergency room. Cyanide poisoning is treatable, but not by anything you've probably got lying around the house.

What is the danger of Formaldehyde in nail polish?

In 1987 the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified Formaldehyde as 2A "probable human carcinogen" for a rare form of nasal cancer. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has similarly classified Formaldehyde as a probable human carcinogen under conditions of unusually high or prolonged exposure.

In fact, formaldehyde is not typically added directly to cosmetics and personal care products, other than as a component of some nail hardening products. Therefore, Formaldehyde is not inhaled. Some ingredients release very small amounts of Formaldehyde into the product as needed to protect against the growth of bacteria.

Regarding inhalation of large amounts of Formaldehyde, IARC considered new studies again in 1995 and maintained the rating at 2A. In 2004, IARC convened a Working Group of scientists to review all available scientific data. The Working Group voted to recommend reclassification of Formaldehyde as a known human carcinogen. The IARC Working Group based its reclassification decision on new information from studies of persons exposed to Formaldehyde, which in its view provided sufficient evidence to establish that exposure to Formaldehyde causes nasopharyngeal cancer in humans under certain circumstances. It also found strong evidence of a link between Formaldehyde and leukemia, though the evidence was not sufficient to establish a causal relationship.

It is important to recognize, however, that the IARC Working Group's reclassification decision appears to have been based on findings for Formaldehyde at high concentrations with exposure to gaseous Formaldehyde such as those seen in industrial settings. These exposures do not occur in cosmetic and personal care products.

What is a Spa pedicure?

This is a professional toenail job.

Spa pedicure is a procedure which cleans and removes the dead skin cells from the feet and toenails. It helps prevent nail diseases. The pedicure is also accompanied by a foot massage that rejuvenates the skin as well as relaxing the muscles. This service can be acquired in a cheap spa days center that provides various treatment for the foot.

If you know how to pedicure your toes then you can have a quality spa pedicure. This is done by removing your old nail polish thoroughly. Soaking your feet in warm water 10-15 minutes and you can add herbal to the water. Just do your procedures in putting nail polish on your toes and then massage your foot for 5 minutes. By doing this, it will restore and replenish your tired foot.

What products aside from nail polish remover will remove nail polish?

  • Any product containing acetone or methyl-ethyl-ketone (MEK) will remove nail polish. This can include many paint-thinning or removal products, including lacquer thinner. However, these products can rapidly dehydrate human skin, and are highly flammable.

In addition, pure acetone has a flash point similar to gasoline (petrol) and vapours can be ignited by a nearby flame... it can also dissolve lots of common plastics....

  • Consumer nail polish remover is actually 60% acetone. But the remainder is moisturizers and water to reduce the impact on the skin, and to make it safer to use....
  • Polish can also be dissolved with more (wet) nail polish. It is recommended that this be done with clear nail polish, one finger at a time.
  • While DEET, the active ingredient in insect repellent, may also be effective, it is NOT recommended; it is also very damaging to many household plastics.
  • Another alternative is to use use peel-off nail polish instead.
  • You could also put tape on your nails, and after a few seconds, rip it off quickly.
  • Lastly, some toothpaste removes nail polish. Rub vigorously with a napkin.

Also Acetone and alchol Do not peel the polish or your nails will turnbrittle also top of nail may peel off as well.

If this is all too much trouble, nail-polish can be simply removed by first wetting the nails with water and then repolishing your nails while they are still wet with the same nail-polish.

This may have to be done twice according to the strength of the nail-polish.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Try using a wet wipe takes longer but it works.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also try using hairsray spray onto a cloth thing and wipe

    IMPORTANT:Never use body spray

I've tryed ding it but it just makes the nail STING.

These are the best ways to do this..

    WHAT YOU NEED IS..

    Nail polish (preferably clear)

    Wet wipe(s)

First you have to soak your nails is hot or warm water for 10 minutes,

Then you just need to put the clear nail polish over your other nail polish and wipe if off with the wet wipe as quick as you can so it doesn't dry off. (Repeat as needed).

-Hand sanitizer will do the trick....it will go off in seconds

-sprat deodorant works too....just spray on to a spot on a cloth and wipe o ff hard

- tooth paste works but takes forever

EDIT:

Vinegar and Citric Fruits

Vinegar is a natural substance. Putting this acidic substance on polish will break it down and make it possible to wipe off. Simply put a small amount of vinegar in a bowl. Add citric fruit such as lemon, lime or an orange, and mix in with the vinegar. Put a cotton ball in the mixture and wipe on your fingernails. It may take a bit longer to remove the polish fully, since it will take a little while to break down. Also, you may have to gently scrape your nails to fully remove.

Insect repellent is sometimes recommended as an alternative nail polish remover. Because of the harsh chemicals found in insect repellent, this is not suggested.

Can you do a manicure on really short nails?

Eggshell nails is a disorder in which the fingernails are very thin and fragile. It is not recommended that a manicure be done on them.
