A Marlin 1889 .32-20 Safety octagon barrel rifle in good condition (75 - 80 % finish in metal, most of original finish on wood, NO modifications) should be worth about $800.00 to $1,200.00 dollars.

If you subtract the first 2 numbers of your serial number from 2000,you should be able to get the year of manufacture.I can say that the model 70HC was made from 1989-1995.But I can find no serial number data on the model 75C.

I have seen them sell for between 400-500 dollars depending on condition and a good bore.

These marlin rifles were only made from 1980-1983.I had one and found it thumped pretty good.While some books say the value is between 150-400 dollars,I know from experience that these rifles are going for 500-600 dollars easy depending on condition.I handloaded for my rifle and still have the brass and bullets.Even these are getting hard to find today.

Why would you need a silencer when you could just shoot the .22 cal CB round! these subsonic rounds make nearly no noise and you have the same results.

AA Manufactured in 1965. BB Manufactured in 1966 CC Manu 1967 DD 1968 That's not quite correct info. The AA is 1965, but 1966 is AB, 1967 is AC, 1968 is AD. Then in 1969 through 1971 the prefixes changed to the first two digits of the year made. An example is: 1969=69, 1970=70, 1971=71. After 1972 the first two digits of the serial number were deducted from the year 2000, so a 1972 would have the prefix 28. 1973 would be 27, etc.....

The marlin model 990 was made to hold 18 rounds in its tube magazine.

It is absolutely *not* where u put your stud for a sling swivel. This is the Marlin "Bullseye". This trademark has been used since 1922 on all Marlin walnut buttstocks. Please note that this is not a suitable place to install a swivel for you firearm. Swivels should be mounted approximately 2 inches from the toe of the butt.
