That's really up to you. If you have long eye lashes you may like a mascara that adds volume like the lashblast volume blasting mascara or the volumeexact mascara. If you replace your mascara every 3 months and wash it off (without rubbing) before bed, you aren't likely to directly damage your eyelashes. However, mascara is drying and you may need to give your eyes a rest day every week. Check with your doctor if your mascara hurts or if you are noticeably losing eyelashes.

Wearing mascara with contacts is perfectly safe with virtually any brand of mascara.
I suggest a mascara that focuses on length rather than volume. This means that the mascara is designed to build up your lashes at the tips rather than the base, keeping your eye clear from any risk, though I wear my contacts with plumping mascara all the time. Both ways are safe, but if you're worried, stick to length-enhancing formulas.
Applying too much mascara can be dangerous for your eye with or without contacts. Keep your application light (1-2 coats) and focus more on separating your lashes than building them.
If you still aren't getting the effect you want, false lashes are always a safe option. They won't effect your lens and are also perfectly safe.

How many uses are in one mascara tube?
It all depends on how often you use your mascara and how large the tube is. Generally speaking, mascara dries out after about 3 to 4 months, but again, it has to do with the size of the tube and how often you use it. I've found I need to replace mine about every three months and I use mine about 5 days a week, although, I do have two mascaras I use. :-) I would recommend the colossal by maybelline and Estee Lauder magniscope (sp):-)
