With dial calipers, my closest estimate for the key size on a b2200 1987 to 199? is 3/4 inch in length, and width 190, height 240 to 250, I find that 230 is not tall enough, you may even want to check to be sure you have clearance behind the sprocket, as the shoulder on the crank and the spocket both wear down, Jack near Yelm is the brain on this.

ALSO - Never use a grinder to trim down a woodruff key, it is far to easy to destroy the hardness level of the key, too hard it damages the keyway, too soft it shears too easy, ONLY file with a clean sharp flat file, only put in soft clamp vise so you don't deform the key, finish the edges after filing to be as they were before you started, not sharp.

If a keyway is already damaged, you can clean with alcohol or something and scuff the keyway slot with a fine emery cloth, or a small sharpening stone, oil the key slightly so the putty won't stick to the key (no excess oil that might dirty of the slot when you set the key in), and use something like JB Waterweld to pack in beside the key carefully, making sure the key is properly lined up and seated at the bottom of the keyway, and remove the key after about 2 or 3 minutes, wait another 5 minutes more and gently file off any excess putty, before it hardens, trying to get the perfect contour of the shaft, and assemble the parts after about 1 hour, even though it says 20 minutes on the package for JB WaterWeld, since a crankshaft is colder than the air, it will cure slower than you expect. Make sure you torque the timing sprocket, and use a second person or some way to secure the crank by the flywheel, mark the ring gear with chalk so you can check to see if the sprocket turned any when you torqued it down. You may also want a drop of green locktite on the shaft snout to help keep it from turning later after its all together and running if you do have wear from it wobbling and slipping.

I find some of these STUPID types of crank snouts are never efficient and even from the factory spin and do damage. I recommend torques of 65 foot pounds to 100 foot pounds depending on sizes, and damage. Adding a thin shim of good hard steel not soft junk, to the back of the sprocket to compensate for wear of the back of the sprocket and front shoulder of the crank to keep the sprocket away from the timing case cover and front crank seal.

Unless Mazdas are different, your VIN (vehicle id number) is located where the windshield meets the dash on the driver's side. you may have to lift the dash mat to clearly see it. Also Your insurance & title paperwork will list it.

The 1978 Mazda GLC was advertised as a 1300 cc engine, but its actual displacement was 1272 cc. The engine was the Mazda TC series, an 8 valve inline four cylinder. I believe it also had a one barrel carburetor.

Any seats that fit the 86-93 B2000, B2200, or B26600(i) should fit the same as the B2600i seats. Attached are several links with what others have done. Most Mazda seats from those years will interchange with minimal modifications. Some may require drilling, or bolting original seat tracks onto the new seats.

Changing out a manifold gasket can be a difficult job for a novice. However, that is not to say that a mechanically-inclined novice cannot do it. A good repair manual with step-by-step procedures, such as Hayne's or Chilton's, is a valuable assett for any "novice" mechanic. After removing the cylinder head, it might be wise to have it examined for warpage at a machine shop - especially if the gasket blew due to overheating - and have it resurfaced. Get a valve job done on it while it is there.

first you remove the tranny pan and you clean it out good with a clean rag then you take the too bolts loose on the filter that is hanging down you cant miss this remove the filter and reverse process for install

At the bottom of the center console, there is a yellow airbag sticker. If you peel that sticker back then you will see that there is a key hole. Its the same key that starts the vehicle, unless you have had to change out your ignition then you would need to go to the dealer to get the key that the vehicle originally came with. There are two ways to clear the codes and reset the Check Engine light. The safest way is to use an OBDII scanner tool. Another way is to disconnect the negative battery cable for a couple of minutes and then reconnecting it. The drawback with the cable disconnection method is that the computer may lose it's entire memory and the vehicle will run rough for a while until the computer re-learns itself.

I just saw one for sale on Ebay with the part # F4SF-10B 885-AA on it. Remember the B series vehicles were made by Ford that year, and you can interchange parts with a Ford Ranger (except for parts specifically molded with "Mazda" as part of the design, I.E. Grills, etc)

well if its a five speed its located on the driver side and there should be a square plug holding it. im not to sure about atomatics
