A sphere is so strong because it is geodesic. It is strong because all the average strength are very strong.
Why is the tube in the thermometer made very narrow?
To save materials and thus costs of production Umm yeah you are 100% wrong. They are so narrow so that the liquid doesn't slide up and down the thermometer when u take it out of your mouth and try to read it. Adhesion allows the liquid to cling onto the tube which keeps the liquid stationary.
Actually, you're both...mostly wrong. The alcohol/mercury expands when heated. For this reason, the thin tube allows for one to see the change in temperature, whereas a wider tube would result in more subtle and difficult to read changes.
Whats the Mechanism of flying?
To achieve flight, a vehicle has to have an upwards force ( "Lift") greater than or equal to its weight.
To produce lift force, what typically happens is that air moves over a wing that is shaped in such a way so that the air moves faster over the top, and slower over the bottom of the wing. From a law of fluid dynamics (Bernoulli's Equation), if a stream of air lowers its velocity, it will have a greater pressure. This means there is more pressure on the bottom of the wing than the top, and so it pushes up on the wing, producing lift.
Is there any cathodic protection for offshore cranes?
According Cp if ur Crane is not contacting with any electrolyte like water, soil, means ther is no cp for atmospheric corrosion.
There are a number of things that you could die an mold. Clay is one substance you can die and mold.
What is definition of fluctuating load?
The type of loads that vary continuously on the structure or a body are called fluctuating loads . for example traffic passing on a bridge applies different loads of varying nature. When load is fluctuating , the maximum stress level condition appears frequently . number of loading cycle is a count which tells that how many times the structure can bear maximum stress level. So fluctuating loads reduce the endurance limit.
Pump surging - if a pump doesn't have a minimum flow it will build up discharge pressure. When this discharge pressure gets high enough the pump cannot overcome it any more and the water starts to flow backwards. When the water starts to flow backwards, the pump slows down. The impeller will start to spin backwards building up pressure again. The water inside the pump will shift back and forth wreaking havoc with your pump impeller. This cycle of spinning forwards and backwards will repeat itself and will destroy your thrust bearing and destroy your pump.
This can happen with any type of centrifugal pump, if you block the discharge the pump will build up pressure and surging can take place.
What is meant by ladle tapping?
if u pour liquid metal in a ladle from furnace then cast in a mould, its called ladle tapping
SQDCM stands for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost & Morale. These form the 5 classes under which related metrics are devised to track the performance of a buisness. These metrics could also be done at department level. The number of accidents could be a metric in Safety. Accordingly targets are devised and benchmark ratings are indicated. These metrics are recorded at frequencies, like monthly or weekly. With recording of current metrics, action plans are also drawn up to correct deviation from targets. All these are recorded in simple formats and displayed openly for perusal of all the stakeholders and outsiders too.
Flexible plastic sheeting for outdoor use?
Flexible plastic sheeting for outdoor use can be found at most home improvement stores. This type of sheeting is often used to make an improvised painting booth or even to create a great slip and slide area.
How hot does it have to be to melt metal?
You need to define "metal"- since different metals have VERY different melting points. Mercury is melted at room temp. Gallium can melt in boiling water. Lead and tin are mixed as solder, and melt at fairly low temps. Gold and silver melt at moderate low temps. Aluminum is higher. Steels and hi temperature tungsten alloys will glow white hot before melting. So- which metal did you have in mind
How do you pick or crack a masterlock?
Hit it hard with a hammer. Either the lock will break open, usually what happens, or you'll break whatever the lock is on.
14 cm or 5.5 inches. i have one in my pocket but it won't let me put a picture
What is the difference between factory and industry?

What percentage of Ash used in cement?
What kind of industry is using rubber processing oil?

A measure of eccentricity of a shaft or bore usually measured by a dial indicator
Induction pump is a term used to describe any type of pump that depends on electromagnetic induction for its operation. These pumps are often used for liquid alkaline metals that are expected to reach temperatures between 800 and 1000 degrees Celsius.
How does a collapsible steering column work?
A collapsible column is where the steering rack will fold together in the event of a crash. In some modern car they dont have this, this can cause the steering collumn to go straight through the drivers skull. But now more cars are being fitted with collapsible columns to prevent the driver being killed.
