Wow, this a surprise.
Mr Fink was my teacher at Brown St grade school on 20th and Brown St.
He left the class room in Sept and another teacher took over the class.
The next day we were told what had happened but were given no details.
My father read the paper to me and tried to explain what had happened. I asked him why would anyone do something like that.
This was a time when we still walked to school and didn't have any fears about the neighbor hood we lived in. Only the fear we had was that the Russians were going to blow us up with an A Bomb. What ever that was.
If I remember right, a door to door preacher came to her door to spread the word of god. He shot through the door and again when he went inside. He also shot another neighbor, but I think she lived.
I remember when Mr Fink returned to class and told us about his wife. There were a few tears in the room. Sometimes Mr Fink would stare into space. no one interrupted him.
