Nope, you have to buy it and the game is based on the Java code.

You really only need to have the internet on once when you download Minecraft to update the files then you can play it off line after that. You don't HAVE to update it after that if you don't want to.

You can even play multiplayer over LAN in your house if you want to make your own server with your family. Although every one will have to have the same version of the game in order to play on a server.

Yes, you don't need to be online to play Minecraft. You really only need to be online to get updates and to play on someone else's server online.

If you want to make a server and play on a Lan line with 2 or 3 people in your house for example then you can do it.

The enderdragon only naturally spawns in the end. To find the end you have to activate the end portal located in one of the three strongholds generated in the world. you must fill the sockets on the end portal with eyes of ender, once done you may enter the end and be able to find the enderdragon.
