When were hoverboards invented?

During the 1990s there were rumors, fuelled by director Robert Zemeckis,[1] that hoverboards were in fact real, but not marketed because they were deemed too dangerous by parents' groups. These rumors have been conclusively debunked.[1] Some companies hoping to leverage the commercial success of the movies have marketed hovercraft vehicles as hoverboards, but these products have not been shown to replicate the experience depicted in the movies. Subsequent to the movies the hoverboard concept has been reused by many authors in various forms of media in fictional universes not directly related to

In March of 2014 a Funny or Die youtube video featured Hoverboards with famous celebrities Tony Hawk and Christopher Lloyd. They were involved with the Hoverboard hoax video by a fake company Huvrtech. Later on both Tony and Christopher apologized for the hoax and decided to give away a free hoverboard prop.

Why are truck trailers 53 feet long?

The Surface Transportation Assistance Act of 1982 allows trucks pulling trailers 53 feet long to travel on roads designated as part of the National Highway Network, or any road within one mile of the National Network, or en route to a terminal which includes a shipper, a consignee, a firm engaged in the transfer of goods, or a trucking company's facility. (The easiest way to find out if a road is on this network is to get a trucker's road atlas, where the National Network roads are marked.) I think they came up with this number because a conventional tractor with sleeper cab connected to a 53-foot trailer produces a vehicle 70 feet long.

Why does your car bog down when accelerating from 50 mph?

get a better car

Assuming this is a recent development, if you have an automatic transmission, the shift points may need to be adjusted. Older vehicles had a linkage (a lightweight bar, a rod or a cable) connected from the throttle to the the tranny and/or a vacuum line from the throttle body connected to a servo on the tranny. Check any vacuum lines to the tranny for leaks and check any cables or linkages that connect the throttle to the tranny (they will move when you move the gas pedal) to see if they are kinked, loose or disconnected.

Newer vehicles are controlled electronically, so unless the check engine light has come on, you may have to look for other things, like low compression. Low compression could affect vehicles of any age, but will affect performance at all speeds.

Low compression in the engine has nothing to do do with the way a Constant Velocity Transmission works.Again,

I am not saying that is wrong. It is actually a good answer but not my words. My original answer was: It could be so many things. If it gets up to 50 or so okay but when you try to accelerate it does not accelerate as it should it may be starving for fuel, i.e. filter clogged and the engine does not get the fuel it needs, or one of many sensors, for example the 02 sensor that is part of what sets the fuel/air trim could be going out. Or if you hit the gas it's not downshifting as it should, that will "lug' the engine and 'bog it down'. You don't say what year you car is but if you get your OBD codes scanned it will tell you a lot. Most any parts house will scan your OBD for faults free. You will get a code that begins with "P" followed by 4 numbers. Write down the codes and bring them to my message board, or right here and I will be happy to help you make a decision on a soloution. ~David

This a problem that has plagued that motor. The only answer is a bad design. They did a recall for this issue. Check with your local dealer rep for Cat and see if they will still warrant this issue. Seeing as how Cat has stopped producing road engines you probably will not have good luck with this but I wish you well.
