The tree trunk spiders are members of the tropical and semi-tropical Family Hersiliidae. There are about 150 species in this family. I have never owned a monkey and I can see why you would want one, but after seeing several TV programs on monkey ownership I have to tell you it is not a good idea. Many people have cared and loved small monkeys but the monkey ends up turning on the owner when they become "teens". I don't mean they get grumpy or hard to handle, but they get mean and attack. Remember, they are wild animals and do have teeth and claws. The past owners of these animals talk about the love and the care they gave them and the pain of having to give up their pet because the monkey is just becoming a monkey. Also know this as well some cities and towns require a license for an animal like this and some don't allow people to own them. I suggest you get a dog or cat.
