Moonshine, by it's very nature is illegal to make. If you are licensed to distill spirits then you legally make distilled spirits not moonshine. Moon shine got it's name from the illegal stills being operated by the shine of the moon, in the dark of night.

Some distilled spirits similar in manufacture to moonshine are vodkas, tequilas, and Everclear* distilled spirits, which are all proofed and bottled immediately after being distilled. Licensed distilleries pay a tax for each bottle of spirits distilled, moonshiners do not pay the tax, are not licensed and operate outside established legal jurisdictions. Anything that is taxed and licensed therefore is not moonshine.

you need corn meal sugar highly active yeast and distilled water a 5 gal bucket with a air tight lid and a air lock.... you add 32 oz of corn meal in the bucket 2lbs of sugar now you need to heat up about 1 gal of your distlled water a lil bit more then room temp then add the water now add one packet of your yeast and stir it untill your sugar disolves now add the other gal of distilled water you have to you use distilled water tap water will kill your yeast now put on your air tight lid withe the air lock and store at room temp for 6 days if you do not have a air lock you can make one just you a rubber hose put it in the lid of the bucket make sure it is only like 3 inches into the bucket you dont want it to go into your mash then run the other end of it into a glass of water

put 4"-5" of sweet feed into a 5 gallon bucket and add 5lbs white sugar. pour the bucket haf full of boiling water and stir until the sugar is desolved. let stand 90 minutes. fill the bucket the rest of the way with cool water to bring your temp down to around 87 degrees, and throw in your yeast. mix well.

It all depends really on things like amount of yeast, mash, temperature, etc. But usually it'll take abut 4-5 days. To be sure, wait to distill until the mash has stopped bubbling and it has a really sour taste. Fermentation speeds up at higher temperatures, but make sure you don't let the temp. get above 120F or the yeast will start to die, which means theres nothing to produce alcohol.
