Mount Everest

Tallest mountain in Asia is Everest, it is also the world highest mountain.

The world tallest mountain is Mauna Kea.

Mauna Kea would be the World's tallest mountain only if 20,000 feet of it wasn't under seawater. So until the Pacific Ocean dries up, Mount Everest will remain as the world's tallest free standing mountain.

If you mean the first person to reach the summit of Mount Everest then that was Edmund Hillary in 1953

Following his ascent of Everest, Hillary devoted most of his life to helping the Sherpa people of Nepal through the Himalayan Trust, which he founded. Through his efforts, many schools and hospitals were built in Nepal.

At the end of 2012 approx five thousand have climbed Mount Everest.

The summit of Mount Everest was first reached in 1953 by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay.

During the summer months no one tends to climb Mount Everest due to the dangerous weather that takes place on the mountain and the surrounding area. So there are no activites during this time.

This mountain is in Turkey, and it is said that Noah's ark could be there.

Credit is given to Hudson Stuck, Walter Harper and Harry Karstens in 1913.

The northern peak was first scaled in 1910, and in 1913 Hudson Stuck and Harry Karstens ascended the southern peak, the true summit.

Denali (Mount McKinley) was first climbed on the 7th June 1913 by Hudson Stuck, Harry Karstens, Walter Harper and Robert Tatum

Due to the fact that the climate on Mount Everest is so harsh, it is no surprise that very little lives on the mountain itself. However, there are some things that have been found on Everest. Of course, the vast majority of these things have been found at the bottom of the mountain, but some are surprisingly much higher up. The Euophrys omnisuperstes is a small jumping spider that lives 22,000ft up Mount Everest. The Bar-Headed Goose has been seen flying around Everest at up to thirty thousand feet. Another bird that has been known to survive on Everest is the Chough, this bird has been seen as high as 7,920 meters.

Mount Everest has claimed the lives of just over 200 people, many of the bodys are still on the mountain side.

Doug Scott became the first Briton to reach the summit of Mount Everest on the 24th September 1975.

50 million years ago Mount Everest was on the sea bed. Mount Everest started at the bottom of the ancient Tethys Sea, the motion of the Indian sub continental plate and the urasian continental plate colliding, about 30 - 50 million years ago, caused the mountain to rise up and become the highest mountain on the Earth.

The first known ascent was on 29 May 1953 by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay.

There has been no 13 year old girl climb Mount Everest.

There has been a 13 year old boy though:

American teenager Jordan Romero became the youngest climber to summit Mount Everest at the age of 13 on the 22nd May 2010

Last year Bachendri Pal along with Premlata Agarwal and a group of ace climbers, which includes Mt. Everest summiteers have quietly arrived in Uttarkashi and carried out relief and rescue operations in the remotest high altitude villages of the Himalayas that have been ravaged in the 2013 North India floods,

The 1953 expedition was made up by John Hunt, George Band, Thomas Bourdillon, Charles Evans, Alfred Gregory, George Lowe, Wilfrid Noyce, Griffith Pugh, Thomas Stobart, Michael Ward, Michael Westmacott , Charles Wylie and many Sherpa's and Porters all helped put Hillary and Tenzing on the summit of Mount Everest.

Mount Everest is sacred to most everyone on the Himalayan Mountain Range because of the height of the peak. Many religions in the Himalayans believe that the mountain is the fastest way to God because of its height. Many Native American groups also believe that a mountain is sacred, and most likely believed that Mount Everest was sacred. The Tibetans referred to the mountain as the "Holy Mother."

There are sea fossils on Mount Everest because it is thought that the summit of Mount Everest started at the bottom of the ancient Tethys Sea, the motion of the Indian subcontinental plate and the urasian continental plate colliding, about 30 - 50 million years ago, caused the mountain to rise up and become the highest mountain on the Earth.

No scientific research has been conducted on Everest to find out, but lets hope someone does that soon.. Cause I need some homework answers, Now!

The most common reasons for deaths on Mount Everest are falling, avalanches, falling rocks, low oxygen levels, tiredness and the extreme weather change.
