Some people who have acclimatized enough, are in great shape, and/ or are just genetically built for it - can go up K2 and Everest without an oxygen tank. In fact, using oxygen on Everest if sometimes blamed as one of the factors for the increase in accidents on this mountain. This is because people who are not in proper shape, experienced enough, or just shouldn't be up there can make it to the top of this mountain if they use an oxygen tank.

Mt. Everest is named after Sir George Everest. He was a British military engineer who served as a surveyor general of India from 1829 to 1843. During this time he surveyed the peak, and became the first person to record the location and height of the mountain, which at that time was called Peak XV. Andrew Waugh, Everest's successor as the British Surveyor General of India, decided that Peak XV should be named after George Everest. George Everest was opposed to the idea, claiming to the Royal Geographical Society in 1857 that Everest could not be written in Hindi nor pronounced by 'the native of India'. Waugh's proposed name prevailed despite his objections, and in 1865, the Royal Geographical Society officially adopted Mount Everest as the name for the highest mountain in the world. Pilot mountain is a metamorphic quartzite monadnock and a part of the ancient chain of Sauratown Mountains in North Carolina. It is impossible to put an exact age on it, but it would have been formed billions of years ago, when geological folding caused the mountain chain to be created. This would have been hundreds of millions of years before life appeared on the planet- all that can be said is that it's several billion years old.

Ward Western rifles from what i have read online (and i have one i am looking for a magazine clip for also) were made for Montgomery Wards by various manufacturers of which one was Mossberg. Check out some old Mossberg models and see if it looks like one of them. I'd swear my Ward Western looks 90% like a Mossberg Model 144, especially when you put the action out of the stock, it is nearly dead on. I sent a pic into a Mossberg expert ( http://www.havlinsales.com ) who sells parts for old Mossbergs. Sorry, not much you can do for obscure 22's. Let me know if you ever find anything more for Wards Western 22's (post back here). My barrel is marked "70" i think. Where is yours marked "36"? Just found this after i posted it.

I have a Western Field Mo #36 D single shot 22. This rifle was made in the 1930s.It has been in my family since new.I am of the opinion it was a mossberg but i cant prove it.I am searching for a bolt for this one ! Any help is appreciated.thanks.
