I have an identical twin. For me it is no more likely that I will have twins than anyone else because identical twins are just flukes. If you are a non- identical twin and that is because your mother had two eggs, then you may have this too, and it is more likely you will have twins.

I am sure there is am mathematical equation out there somewhere on percentages but that I don't know. I know twins run in our family. My mom had twins her 2nd pregnancy. Her 1st was me and I was a loner, then my twin sisters, then 2more single births. My little brother and my baby sister. So for my mom, 4 pregnancies, only 1 twin. Now before you go getting all excited (unless up want more twins), her sister got pregnant 3 times & had twins all 3 times! My me mom says my aunt has always been an over achiever & a show off though LOL!
NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are very different. In fact I am a twin, and my two younger sisters who are 2 years younger are also twins, so, haha, I know what I'm talking about. There are two different types though, the types that are always together, and...well.....then the types that cant stand to be around the other. and me and my sister aren't the closest, but my two younger sisters always like to be together, etc. But twins are not the same, I mean, i have been asked so many WIERD questions like "Do you think the same thoughts?", "Do you have both have 1 soul?", etc. But really, even my two younger twin sisters, although they are good friends, they are OPPOSITES in alot of ways. And me and my sister are too. Twins are just normal people who happen to look the same.

Why do some twins look different?
Fraternal twins occur when two fertilized eggs are implanted in the uterine wall at the same time. When two eggs are independently fertilized by two different sperm cells, DZ twins result. The two eggs, or ova, form two zygotes, hence the terms zygotic and biovular.
Identical twins occur when an egg splits into two; which makes them identical. Identical twins are not hereditary like fraternal twins can be. It is complete coincidence.
