Update: Yes, he is from the Uzumaki clan that has been mentioned and talked about by Kushina (his mother) in the manga, Ch. 500. The Uzumaki clan specializes in seals and were attacked and destroyed during or after the war.

Update: in naruto chapter 510 uchiha madara reveals that nagato is from the uzamaki clan

the reason being that tho goku does surpass his power later in the series, if broly was still alive he would be stronger than ss4 Gogeta because broly's power was different from the other saiyans. Broly's power would have kept rising forever in his legendary form. Broly is the Real Legendary super saiyan not like when goku went super saiyan for the first time. As Vegeta described and other characters in the show. The Legendary Super Saiyan was supposed to be completely brutal and a bloodthirsty fighting monster who had no equal and never gave mercy which is exactly what Broly was. in the movies of Broly, Broly could have killed all the z-fighters in an instant (except maybe Bio-Broly) but he was like a cat playing with the mouse before eating it. Broly's Tranformations are also different from a normal super saiyan. instead of powering up and the hair starting to glow, he explodes and is in his legendary form. In the first movie when it shows him transforming, just before he explodes his cheeks start to rip apart from all the power. and when goku gets all the power from his freinds and punches him in the stomache (where he was stabbed as a child) a hole gets punched out and his power starts to escape and then he explodes again and goes back to his original form and escapes to earth in a space pod (where'd he get the space pod?) and he crashes on earth into a mountain and a lake forms over him and freezes and he is there for 7 years and survives it somehow until awakened by the crying of goten and there on earth he gets mooned, peed on, and pushed into the sun. another example of Broly's power is when goku fires the same Kamehameha he fired at cell in the Cell Games. Cell got his upper half blown off but broly didnt get even a scrape
