Absolutely not! If they are idolatrous, then everyone on earth who has photos of family members, sports heroes or teen idols around the house is also guilty of blasphemy. Statues or pictures of saints or crucifixes are simply aids to prayer. They help us focus our prayer or meditation. Who can look at a crucifix without remembering the extreme sacrifice of Jesus Christ to save our souls from sin? We do not worship statues or crucifixes. Worship belongs to God alone. They are simply spiritual aids.

No. Jerusalem and Nazareth are two separate cities. In Biblical times, Nazareth was in Galilee and Jerusalem in Judea.

I think you mean 70s song BY Nazareth. The most famous would probably be their version of "Love Hurts." This was their one major US hit. They were a Scottish band, however, and had more than a few other top releases in the UK.

The people were astonished because Jesus was raised as a carpenter's son. He was not educated, and definitely didn't have any of the taught knowledge that the priests and the Pharisees had at the temple. So when Jesus rose up and started teaching on deep spiritual concepts and issues, they were amazed because He was so eloquent and well spoken and informed about those issues.

There does appear to have been a small town at Nazareth during the latter part of the first century CE. What is still uncertain is whether this town was established after the destruction of Jerusalem in the year 70, or whether it existed much earlier. Because of the gospels, scholars take the view that there must have been a small village there at the beginning of the century, but that it must have been no more than a rural hamlet of just a few houses.

Scholars have noted that nowhere in his epistles does Paul mention going to any of the places associated with Jesus of Nazareth. He never visited Nazareth, nor Bethlehem, never asked to be shown where Jesus prayed or where he was crucified or buried. Jesus was a Jew who was from Galilee which was part of the province of Syria of the Roman Empire. He also preached in Judea, which was another province of the Roman Empire. The early Christians were Jews who preached to other Jews, followed Jewish law and went to the synagogue. Christianity went beyond being a religion in Judea when Paul of Tarsus created a theology which made it a religion open to all gentiles (non-Jews). He said that you did not have to be a Jew or follow Jewish law to be a Christian. Faith in Jesus alone was what was needed to be a Christian. This paved the way for the spread of Christianity in the rest of the Roman Empire

Nazareth is not mentioned in the Old Testament. The town is primarily known as the childhood home of Jesus in the New Testament, particularly in the Gospels. The Old Testament does reference various cities and locations in ancient Israel, but Nazareth is not among them.

This is a reference to the Nativity story in Luke's Gospel, since in Matthew's Gospel, Mary and Joseph lived in Bethlehem and had probably never been to Nazareth.

Luke 2:22 says that when the days of purification for Mary were completed, after the birth of Jesus, they took Jesus to Jerusalem to present him at the Temple, then 2:39 says that when they had accomplished these things they returned home to Nazareth. They would probably have begun their journey forty days after the birth of Jesus.
