Then Ziva leaves and Ellie comes

The team is shocked when they discover that a charred corpse found on the beach that is revealed to be that of Special Agent Lara Macy, a fellow NCIS agent and a close friend of Gibbs. They discover that the last case Macy worked on before her tragic death was a case regarding the rape of a Navy sailor. While they manage to find the rapist, the case is completely unrelated to the murder. Meanwhile, Abby confronts Gibbs about the murder he committed in Mexico, asking him what to do, and Gibbs simply tells her to do her job and file the full report. Gibbs soon becomes convinced that Colonel Bell is responsible and leaves for Mexico. When he finally arrives, he finds Mike Franks' house has been burned to the ground as well as the bodies of several of Bell's men. Gibbs is then captured by one of Bell's henchmen, who reveals that the body that Gibbs thought was Franks is in fact Colonel Bell. Gibbs is then knocked unconscious before he can ask the henchman who he's really working for.

The audience never finds out. Gibbs buries the box back in his shrubs before he opens it. This was done because he didn't want to dishonor his daughter's memory by opening the box and finding out what was inside. One can imagine that it would have been filled what little girls would fill a time capsule with; drawings, dolls, pictures, etc.

In Season 6, there were 2 episode where Team Gibbs investigated and searched for a little girl who was kidnapped and is Lee's daughter , the guy holding the little girl captive is looking for information about DOMINO and Team Gibbs makes a deal with him, he will give him DOMINO in exchange for the girl. At a bar, where the man is supposed to be we find out that Bankston (the guy who was supposed to deliver DOMINO to the man, who also has Bankston's wife) is the actual man who kidnapped Lee's daughter and steals DOMINO and takes Lee hostage. Bankston shoots at Gibbs and glass shatters and he cant focus his gun on Bankston.

Lee ends up giving Gibbs a nod, meaning to shoot. Gibbs fires his weapon and shoots Lee three times in the chest, killing her but also killing Bankston.

She didn't understand the hardships of being on a full time t.v. show. she wanted to have enough time to raise her kids. The above answer is the reason that Sasha Alexander (agent Kate Todd) left the show. Lauren Holly has already worked on several series so she certainly knew the hardships of being on a series. Most people will remember Lauren from her role as Deputy Maxine Strewart of Picektt Fences. The real reason Lauren left NCIS has never eally been published. Series insiders only said it had been planned for some time. It has been suggested that it was not Lauren Holly's decision to leave NCIS, hence why she never did any publicity afterwards about NCIS

One of my favourite Gibbs Scene at the end of Heartland where he remembers back to when he met his first wife Shannon.

Ziva's brother was Ari Haswari, a Hamaz terrorist who tried to kill Gibbs after killing Caitlin Todd. He was killed by Ziva in Gibbs' basement.
