Netball

There are many different skills and tactics needed to play netball, their are three basic sections for the different skills, and the tactics you learn from experience.. The three sub sections are: Basic skills, which includes Hand positions, catching, throwing, how to throw and catch, feet positions and basic netta and netball rules. The next sub section is middle skills, this includes all positions, stopping with the ball, three foot defence, streches, warming up, warming down and ball skills. The third sub section is called the higher skills, this includes defence, attack, shooting, keeping, how to work the court and talking to all of the players to communicate.

Their are many different tactics you can use to fool your apponents mind and reactions, like falking the ball. That means that you pretend to throw the ball one way, so your opponent jumps that way trying to block the ball, and while this is happening, you would falk the ball and throw it the other way. Another tactic for the goal circle is if you are a shooter, but you must make sure the other players in your team know what you are doing is, that lets just say WA passes you the ball, and you are too fat away to shoot you would pivit around, put your non-grounded foot towards the goal circle and pass it back. Then taking a step back, and WA passes the ball back to you. So you remember it like this, pass, pivit, step, pass, step, shoot. Or you can do it again if you are still to fat away. And if your opponent touches your foot when you have the ball and they dont see it, then they get called up for contact or obstruction with the ball.

A defending tip about this is that make sure that the ball has just left the tips of their fingers before you jump.

A variation of footwork or stepping. It is when a player catches the ball a split second before taking off from one foot, landing on the other- the player thinks that the second foot is the 'grounded' foot and regrounds the first foot.

i disagree with the above comment, sorry. after a goal has been scored, the ball will go to the opposite team's centre and that player will then pass the ball to a team member once the umpire has blown their whistle. hope i helped :)

Due to the introvertical side of the game you need coordination to be able to kick the ball hard into the air. Digging or passing the ball is essential in volleyball and in order to pass the ball you need to have good coordination. In other words you can't be tight, you need to be loose.

This is being asked as we have one set of parents upset with a game that was played to get in the grand finial, there was one girl that had two halfs off, as she is the weakest player and we want to win, ( we won the game which means we are in the grandfinal) but I am concerned that her parents are going to take there 2 kids out and another player which is the reserve which leaves us with 5 players From a concerned assistant coach

No you cant, the other side of the court is the other umpires quarter, you can only umpire your own quarter, unless its out of court on your side but the other quarter, you call the out of court :)

Basically, all you have to do, is stand on the side of them (far enough away that they will think you wont be able to intercept), but just as the ball comes, jump sideways and forwards and catch the ball!

Double Bounce is a very fun basketball game that doesn't require a lot of running around and sweating.. the rules the game are, It starts out with one person taking a shot from the foul line, if they make that shot they get 2 points, now because they made that shot they get to keep taking foul shots to rack up as many points as they can (each foul shot is only 1 point after already receiving the 2 points) Now when they miss the next person in line has to let the basketball bounce 2 times before he or she can pick it up.. once it bounces twice that person has to throw it where they got the ball on the 2nd bounce.. then that person shoots if they get it they receive 2 points and then they go to the foul mark and keep shooting for 1 point until they miss.. once they miss the 3rd person wait 2 bounces and it repeats itself, also if a player waits 2 bounces and shoot where they got it and miss then the next person waits 2 bounces and so forth. Also if a person does NOT catch the ball on the 2nd bounce they lose there turn and the next person in line shoots it where the ball bounces the 2nd time.

Netball is not seen as a real sport because it is based on another sport, its brother basketball. Netball originated from basketball not that long a time ago, which is another reason why people don't regard netball as a sport. However, that way of thinking may change very soon when netball becomes more popular. Also, netball is a sport played only by girls which restricts the popularity. If netball was played by boys than it may become part of the Olympics.

a size 4 ball is used for high 5 netball (which is what younger players play) and a size 5 ball is what is used in 7s netball which is what adults play x
