Notorious Murderers and Serial Killers

While some serial killers may target entire families, this is relatively rare compared to targeting individuals. Those who do may have specific motivations, such as revenge or a desire for control. Many serial killers tend to focus on single victims, often selecting individuals based on certain traits or vulnerabilities. There is still much about these types of killers that remains unknown. But the majority seem to be a combination of nature and nurture, or genetics and environment each contributing certain traits and behaviours. But I believe that there are individuals that are 'evil', they are born that way and the change little throughout their lives. And some do become serial killers.

If you had a serial killer living close by, you will never know it until you see it in the news. All of the serial killers which were interviewed said the same thing, however it is difficult to measure the odds.

Paul J. Knowles, born April 17, 1946 in Orlando, Florida did not fall into the usual serial killer's pattern in victim selection. Knowles killed men, women, and children of varing ages as well as friends and aquaintences. He used different methods of murder including strangulation, guns, and bludgening. he killed heterosexuals as well as homosexuals. Some victims were raped, other not. Some seemed to be sexually motivated, others by robbery. his crimes were similar to those of Henry Lee Lucas, although even Lucas was not as diversified as Knowles. He finally met his end after kidnapping and killing a police officer and was killed in a police shootout, having been shot three times by officers.

As far as I can tell, Peter Sutcliff aka The Yorkshire Ripper, is still alive and in prison in Great Britain. He was recently put on a diet because he was eating himself to death. Not sure how that's going though.

Pee wee Gaskins first killing was committed by mere chance when in 1946, at the age of 13, a girl he knew interrupted him burglarizing a home. She attacked him with an ax, which he managed to get away from her, striking her in the head and arm with it before running away from the scene. The second one was committed by chance and not by intentional motives also so as a killer he was disorganized getting caught both times serving terms.

Officials at the county jail say Peterson gets plenty of reading material from admiring women across the country. He reportedly receives stacks of letters from ladies who apparently support him and hundreds of interview requests from the news media but the only visitors he gets are his parents.

Dr. Harold Shipman has the most confirmed kills than any other person throughout history. In the late 20th century, he preyed on the elderly, telling them he was injecting them with medicine, when it was in fact drugs that would kill them. It is suspected that Dr. Shipman killed more people than found guilty for- possibly 400. If we go by numbers of victims Christman Gniperdoliga killed 964 men between the years 1568-1581 after robbing them.

According to the true crime book "Silent Rage" by Michael Newton, Cole did receive a letter from someone in Washington State that hinted to be the Green River Killer. Although Newton did not get into much detail he seemed to think the letter was genuine.

I have no idea what has happened to the letter in question. If it can be found handwriting comparison and possibly DNA testing can be preformed to determine the letters' authenticity. It would be interesting to find out one way or another. I'm not sure if someone has asked the Green River Killer himself, Gary Ridgeway is serving multiple life sentences in Walla Walla State Prison in Walla Walla, WA.
