Differences between organised and disorganised serial killers?

An organized criminal leaves nothing to chance. They plan their crime bringing any tools or weapons they will need to complete the crime. Organized criminals are intelligent and and are usually detail oriented, they leave nothing to chance. It makes sense that this type of perp is much harder to apprehend.

Disorganized on the other hand doesn't plan every little detail. Impulse driven, their crimes may be more spur of the moment with little forethought to the execution of the crime or the consequences that may follow. They may commit the crime with whatever is available, such as a knife from the victim's home. Since not much thought goes into the planning of their crimes they make mistakes that will usually end in their arrest. They leave evidence, and if they do try to clean up a crime scene it is usually a sloppy job.

There are many criminals that have characteristics of both groups. An example, the perp will bring the weapon with him but will pick a random victim in a high risk situation, such as a public place where he could be seen by anyone walking by. Jack The Ripper was a combination killer. He brought his weapon, knew the area but most likely picked his victims randomly. He killed them in places where he could easily could have been discovered, especially when he had to have known that a constable would be walking by at any moment.

What year did Ed Gein die?

No, and he is buried beside his mother (watch the movie to see why he was).

Edward Theodore Gein (August 27, 1906 - July 26, 1984), was one of the most notorious murderers in United States history. The particularly bizarre and morbid nature of his crimes shocked the world, even though it may never be known if he committed more than two murders. Besides the death of his brother in 1944 under puzzling circumstances, between 1947 and 1957 six people disappeared from the Wisconsin towns of La Crosse and Plainfield; Gein could be linked to only two. Gein died of respiratory failure in 1984 at the age of 77 in the Mendota State Hospital in Madison.
His body was interred at Plainfield Cemetery in Plainfield. Vandalism to the grave site, near his parents', included many years of stone pieces chipped off for souvenirs until his gravestone was finally stolen in 2000. It was recovered in June 2001 near Seattle and now is displayed in a museum in Wautoma, Wisconsin.

Where are Albert Desalvo's siblings?

After much searching I could find only three of DeSalvo's five siblings. His older brother Richard has recently been in the news. Richard volunteered for a DNA test in an attempt to clear his brother's name as the Boston Strangler. It payed off. DeSalvo has been ruled out as the killer of what was thought to be the last victim, Mary Sullivan.

Joseph DeSalvo, the second brother, was more illusive. I could find only one reference to brother Joe, probably because it was an arrest. After Albert's arrest for his 'Green Man' crimes, Richard and Joseph helped Albert escape from the psychiatric hospital where he was incarcerated. No news as to what Joseph is doing now.

There was even less information on DeSalvo's sister. Only that her name is Jeanmarie, Jean for short. That leaves two sisters unaccounted for. I found no info, alive or dead, so it's anybody's guess as to their whereabouts.

Where is killer Alex Baranyi?

Alex Baranyi wanted to experience death. He wanted to experience murder in an up-close and personal way. Alex Baranyi and his best friend David Anderson killed a Bellevue family of four. It was frenzy of blood lust, strangling, stabbing and beating them beyond recognition.

Both were tried and convicted of premeditated aggravated murder. From the evidence, it seems that the trigger may have been Kim asking Anderson for money that he owed her. And he was about to turn 18, the prosecution theory went, so he had acted while still a juvenile. Because they were 17 at the time, they could not be given the death penalty.

Why is the death penalty okay?

For some people, it's not. For others it is not enough punishment for the bringing about the death of a loved one. Since we are a democracy the majority of the people say that capital punishment is justifiable homicide. Everybody has to decide for themselves. And there is never just a 'black and white' solution. Life is full of many shades of gray.

How can the Mormon Church tolerate someone like Jodi Arias?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) believes that all people are beloved children of God and welcomes all people who are willing to make a personal commitment to follow the commandments of God. Since murder is against God's commandments, the Church does not tolerate murderers. Being convicted of murder usually results in the individual's excommunication from the church. They may only be welcomed back by re-baptism if they are found innocent and/or have served their legally required sentence, and this only after careful consideration by Church leaders. However, the Church does do it's best to support members and former members who are in prison, and offersworship services and counseling/support services at many prisons, regardless of the person's crimes.

As the Jodi Arias trial is ongoing as of this answer, it is unknown whether her name is still on the official records of the Church.

What evidence convicted Scott Peterson for the crime he committed?

Scott Peterson was convicted in 2005 of murdering his pregnant wife Laci in 2002. He remains on Death Row in 2017, although appeals continue. The circumstantial evidence and the attempts to dispose of the body supported the prosecution's theory of her murder. There was only tenuous physical evidence to suggest Scott as her killer.
