Is the original quaker oatmeal gluten free?
Oats are naturally gluten free. However, gluten containing grains like wheat, rye and barley could have been grown in fields nearby and come into contact with the oats during harvest or transportation. As the world's leading experts in oat milling, Quaker developed a process to ensure strict standards for Gluten Free are met. Look for Gluten Free labels on packages of Quick Quaker Oats and Instant Quaker Oatmeal.

What is that song in the Quaker oats commercial?
supposebly, that song was created by quaker for that commercial. but hopefully im wrong, its just what ive found to be true. :(
It is a clip from the song "Too Hard" by Mark McAdam, the melody is slightly revised in the commercial. I finally found the answer to this on youtube. Mark McAdam accused Quaker of stealing his song...
The songs name is Energy. It was first sung by Trey Anastasio of Phish (the greatest rock band of all time). I am not sure the singer in this commercial, its obviously not him but it was originally put together by trey in the past couple years. My guess is his daughter really helped with it being so poppy, something that band is not known for. Phish and Trey are famous for giving the rights to their music away for free, much like most great musical acts they want their music to live on forever.

Basically it's an experiment to show you how enzymes work. Enzymes break down the food in your body. if you take any enzyme supplement and add it to cooked oatmeal you can watch as the enzymes break down or 'digest' the oatmeal into a liquidy mush- the way your body's natural enzymes react to food. Directions:
Cook up a one serving oatmeal. The oatmeal should be solid , mushy but not runny. Let the oatmeal cool off to your body temperature or 98 degrees.
Take some enzyme capsules (you can buy them at a health food store) and sprinkle them over the oatmeal. Stir them into the oatmeal with a spoon for 30 to 40 seconds.
The oatmeal will slowly turn into a liquid right before your eyes. In other words, the oatmeal is being digested just like it would in your body! but ifyou taste it, it tastes like regular oatmeal -none of its nutritional values have been lost, altered or destroyed in any way!
Why does this happen? Quoted from -http://www.gohft.com/oatmealTest.htm
"1. The human body's digestive system is supposed to digest 50% of the food we put into our body. The other 50% is supposed to be digested by the live enzymes within the food that we eat.
2. When we eat food without live enzymes--we are asking the human body to digest and break down 100% of the food. After years and years of doing this--the human digestive system gets exhausted, over-used and cannot fully digest the way it should. Undigested particles get into the blood stream and the immune system uses its defenses to attack this unrecognized invader. "
