Oil prices in the U.S. increased, and there was high inflation
The most common spill is from pipeline breaks. Many other sources of spills occur. Oil and gasoline storage tanks have leaked oil, harming the groundwater.
A blow out from a land rig can result in fire and toxic gas (H2S) released to the atmosphere, and cause injury or death to rig workers.
Crude oil spills can harm birds, mammals and vegetation. The spilled oil may remain in the soil for a very long time as it is very expensive to remediate oil soaked earth.
A land base oil spill does not spread quickly over large areas like some marine spills. For this reason, there is not the same awareness that land spills impact the environment.

On November 14, 1947, the first deep offshore oil well was completed in the Gulf of Mexico, 45 miles south of Morgan City, Louisiana. Three years later, the value of the area was confirmed, as five more major oil fields were discovered.
Generally no.
However, I can think of one highly unusual case. If as a result of drilling a well, a sour gas (hydrogen sulfide) deposit is encountered and a blow out occurs, then in this case, air pollution would occur. The rig would be immediately evacuated and efforts begun to kill the well. Of course, the oil company would take extensive precautions to prevent this from happening. The air pollution would be minor in comparison to total sulfur emitted to the atmosphere.
Oil varies considerably in density. Some oil is so thick that it sinks in water. However, it is very uncommon for an oil well to produce very heavy oil.
A light oil will have higher rates of evaporation, which means that some of the oil will be lost due to evaporation when it is on the surface. For evaporation, the density or really the composition of the oil is an important factor. Water temperature, air temperature, hours of sunlight, and wave action are additional factors. Loss by evaporation was considerably higher in the BP oil spill than in the Alaskan oil spill (Exxon-Valdez spill). Note that the Alaskan spill, the oil was low density.
BP used controlled burns to destroy some of the oil. If the oil was heavier and there was more wave action, this might not have been possible.
The rotations in the Gulf of Mexico, are generally 2 weeks on/ 2 weeks off. It might actually be 15 days on, 13 days off, given the overlap necessary. Overseas, a 28/28 day rotation is common. People may return to their home country on their time off, paid for by the contractor.
11 workers were killed in the 1979 Ixtoc oil spill.
Semen stains, so it's a good idea to clean up afterwards. There are lots of different ways to handle this.
- Some boys masturbate in the shower or into the toilet to avoid the problem.
- Some boys use a tissue or towel to clean up--sometimes called a "cumrag."
- Some boys masturbate into a sock.
- If it's the result of a wet dream, typically boys change their underwear.
Although the statistics are kinda uncertian, I'd say well over the thousands. The ten thousands. Maybe even a million. I mean, Think about it. The animals IN the water ON TOP OF the water and AROUND the water, IN the sand, the list goes on and on. Lets just say every animal that comes close to that oil mess is in risk of a 99.9% of getting covered in sticky burning thick oil that will 1) drown them 2) Suffocate them 3) Burn them to death{the oil burns to the touch} or 4) Other like they swallow it or whatever. In which they cant do with out getting in to it :( Its really sad!

On March 24, 1989, the Exxon Valdez ran aground on Bligh Reef in Prince William Sound, Alaska. The tanker was traveling outside the normal shipping lanes in an attempt to avoid ice. It spilled 10.8 million gallons of oil (out of a total cargo of 53 million gallons) into the marine environment, and impacted more than 1,100 miles of non-continuous Alaskan coastline. State and Federal agencies continue to monitor the effects of this spill, which was the largest oil spill in U.S. history.

The blow out and fire occurred on April 20, 2010. See link for a discussion of events.
There was a later oil spill caused by a tugboat hitting an abandoned oil pipe in Barataria Bay.
Yes there was an oil spill in the Great Barrier Reef. More than two tons of liquid petroleum leaked into the southern part of the reef.
The number of birds killed in the 2010 oil spill cannot be accurately counted, but is believed to be in the thousands.

Notes:
After an oil spill, the ocean would be polluted with toxic oil and will kill sea creatures that are near the spill according to many researchers who have seen dead sea birds covered with toxic oil. If you swim in the ocean after an oil spill, your body can be infected with bacteria from the toxic oil and get diseases from it. In other cases, you could probably lose your life.
There are many kinds of environmental pollution, such as air pollution, land pollution, water pollution and noise pollution.
All un-natural pollution is caused by human beings, there are too many people on the planet for the planet to support and our natural and industrial waste is destroying (polluting) the natural environment of our planet.
We can take steps to try and process our natural waste products and to clean up our industrial effluents but in the long run unless we do something to reduce the numbers of humans on our planet, we will destroy our environment to the extent that it will no longer be fit for human life and our species will die off.
because the chemicals in the oil get into the coral causing it to die
Any amount that causes a sheen.

The BP oil spill began on April 20. The best estimate of initiation of uncontrolled flow (blow out) to the rig floor was 9:48 pm when power was lost, due to explosions caused by hydrocarbon flow. Some media reports may put the time a few minutes earlier or later, based on interviews with rig crew of events.
None. Skimmers are mechanical devices, which use the surface tension of the oil to pull oil into a boat.
