Extremely - a single 100mcg/hr Fentanyl patch (good for 48-72 hrs depending on the patient) is equivalent to an overall Oxycodone dosage of 202mg per day, or about 9mg Oxycodone every hour for 24 hours. The average Oxycodone dose is about 10-20mg every 6 hours.

Fentanyl is the strongest opiate on the planet at 100x stronger than oral morphine. While it is normally used as an anesthetic, it's used in transdermal patches as a timed-release pain med for severe pain patients.

I want to know can I take percocets after not taking suboxone for three days and will the percocet work effectively? A: It depends on how long you've been taking Suboxone, and how many mgs. If you have been taking a low dosage(less than 8mg a day for about a week), three days should be fine. If you've been taking upwards of 8-24mg a day for a week or more, three days may not be enough. I would wait until you feel "the need" to take opiates again.

Yes and no. The reason I say that is I am an ex-marine who was injured in combat. I was first started on oral hydrocodone. I moved up in dosage and up to Oxycontin&Fentynyl. Your doctor can definatly test not only for the specific opiate ex.(oxycodone) but also the levels of that drug in your system. If your doc prescribes 2-40mg Oxycontin & 8-5/325 Percocet, they can very well tell if you have the correct level(they do the same thing for recovering addicts on Methadone/Dolphine as

well as Suboxone/Subutex/Buprenorphine...the doc may just swab your mouth or give you a "stick" test.,that just shows if you are positive for the drug or not. I'm not a Doc.,my father is and they may even draw blood for plasma levels. So think twice people

People have thought this combination:"sleeping medicine, anxiolytic (anti-anxiety medicine) and a narcotic/acetaminophen analgesic" is safe and they have never awakened from their drug induced slumber. Physicians are cautious when giving all of these medications ...even on a "take as needed" basis. A great deal depends on your tolerance level. There are many patients who have taken narcotics for a long time so they develop tolerance to the effects...same with the anxiety medicines. Heath Ledger was one such individual who sadly met with an early demise and deprived the world of his talents...but more importantly, his loved ones will live the rest of their days with holes in their hearts....as will all of his fans!

The most dangerous aspect of taking these three drugs is that they have "additive effects" and that means one drug boosts the effects of another. You may not be able to discern when you are reaching the critical "tipping" point. You won't be awake to judge the effects...you'll be unaware of anything...even your dreams!

If your doctor has prescribed the pain medicine during the day and the Ativan as needed with the understanding that the Ambien CR will be taken at night...then it is safe...the doctor knows the condition of your liver and kidneys and whether you are likely to become addicted to the individual drugs or the combination. As long as you do not deviate from the prescribed amounts/dosing schedules the combination is not necessarily lethal.

All three drugs are seriously affected by the slightest amount of alcohol...even in a person with a high alcohol tolerance.

The official answer is: avoid taking these together...make sure you follow your doctor's instructions and avoid all forms of alcohol and alcohol containing products (cold and cough syrups..) as well as muscle relaxants and antihistamines....this latter combination may cause permanent brain damage and possibly death with only ONE trial. If you are experimenting with this combination, please be aware that you do not know if your liver is healthy enough to metabolize the drugs and if your kidneys can effectively remove the metabolites.

Unless you have a serious injury, mega insomnia AND are nervous as a cat facing a Doberman, you don't need all three of these! Avoid them like the plague...

In high doses it can show up as an opiate. At normal to moderate doses oxycodone has to be specifically tested.

Some pearles:

If the person is on percocet at normal doses and they test positive for opiates they are either taking other drugs or huge doses of percocet. Expect it to be negative if they are takign normal amounts.

Check a tylenol level. If it is negative they are not taking the percocet, which has tylenol in it, but rather some other opiate.

I went through Percocet withdrawels a few years ago, not as strong as Oxy's (So i've heard) but basically the same symptoms.

For me,. who didnt take them for actual pain, but just to get high, (Stupid, yes, I know this now...) I started smoking more Marijuana then usuall and started smoking more & more ciggarettes.

Withdrawels almost always go easier if your high on something, becuase then your "general" feelings towards things are changed, and you dont tend to think about doing Oxi's (For me Perk's) as much, or same for whatever your addicted to.

For me, I used Marijuana and Ciggarettes as a.... "crutch" to help the cravings go down, or at least to distract me from thinking about them. (Perk's)

And my friend "Bob" who is a current Cocaine addict, says on the "off" days (Days without Cocaine) Marijuana doesnt make his cravings go away, but it does help, by distracting him from "Blow" thoughts.

Oh, absolutely. They say that if you're going to be on oxycodone for more than a month, you must speak to a doctor about how to adjust your dose, or perhaps switch to another medication. If you'll only need it for a few weeks, or for a short-ish post-op situation, there shouldn't be as much of an issue with tolerance. I have chronic pain (RSD, Fibromyalgia, arthritis). I was treated well by about 20 mg a day (starting October 2007), but as time wore on, I've needed more and more. Recently I was switched to 60 mg a day of oxycodone -- that was about three months ago -- and just today I had to be switched to MS Contin because there's almost no end to the tolerance. I guess it's a juggling act for chronic pain sufferers -- good luck to you. :)

yes. I had to take them together (crushed, in applesauce) for 3 nights in a row after surgery. Just relax, and get some rest. Drink plenty of water when you wake up bc you may have a little cotton mouth

Sorry, but none trustful information has been found. I suppose that you can add about 10 mg of excipients which will totalize 25 mg. However, what matters is the active substance in a medicine.

It's very euphoric when you take it. Well, depending on the strength, really. If you take a Percocet 10, you'll feel the effects after only one pill. But a first time user of Perc's might want to take an anti-emetic (anti-nausea) medicine with it. When you start to itch, you know you're about to be in heaven. Anything could happen in front of you and you won't give a flip about it. For me, the best thing to do when a Perc high begins is to sit or lay on my bed, watching TV. Also, playing a video game makes you feel great because you feel like you can beat the game with ease. Be careful if you choose to walk around somewhere. If you're a first time user of Percocet, then you will feel dizzy and may feel a little nauseated. But after about an hour, you feel just the high. The best part about being a first time user is that the high lasts longer. A first time user will have a high that will last up to 3 1/2 hours. One that has used before will have a high of only about 30 minutes to an hour. Try not to get too addicted to them or the high won't be as good. Alternate drugs. If you stop feeling the same high off of Percocet, change it up and start taking Vicoden or Lorcet 10's. They're different medications. Perc's are oxycodone and Lorcet's are Hydrocodone.

Just to be clear for those who may be unfamiliar with these medications. Percocet's have oxycodone as the main chemical in it for pain not Codeine. Oxycodone is a stronger medication than Codeine.

I have recently started taking Nucynta for breakthrough pain. I also take 40 mg of Oxy twice a day and took Ultram for a long time. (years) I love the Nucynta and to answer your question, in my case.............the Nucynta is a LOT more powerful and effective than the Ultram/Ultracet. It starts working very quickly (I take it every 6 hours as needed).

In my opinion, the Nucynta is more effective than the percs and vics I was taking for breakthrough pain also.

You "can" intravenously inject hydrocodone, but most/all hydrocodone available in the united states is mixed with Tylenol.

If you can find a way to separate the APAP (Tylenol) from the hydrocodone, IV injection will produce a quicker onset. IV administration will also put the user at risk for pulmanary edema and death. So, be happy you are not addicted, and put down the needle.

Oxycodone is the generic name for OxyContin, although OxyContin is actually a time released version of Oxycodone. This means that instead of the drug being released into your bloodstream from your stomach all at once, it slowly releases it over a period of several hours.

The answer is no. Oxycodone is a pain medication. Unless the medication is an oral contraceptive aka birth control, which are forms of the hormones progesterone and/or estrogen, it will not prevent pregnancy.

I would definitely advise quitting at least for the test. If you are in a pinch though here is what I did. (* results may vary depending on how much and how long you have smoked*)

This was a day before my drug test, and I had smoke two days before that.

-3 gallons of water

-1 gallon of cranberry juice (NOT cocktail, the actual JUICE because their is more acid in it!)

-a bottle of vinegar

* You can mix about three shots of vinegar into every gallon of water, and it makes it easier to swallow, but you can still taste it. I took straight shots of vinegar and chased it with cranberry juice. After that ( in between) i would drink water.

WARNING!!!!

Drinking too much water at one time can lead to water poisoning and it could potentially kill you...so be very careful.

Now, marijuana is a fat-soluble drug, so i would probably exercise, and make sure you piss as much as you can. This dilutes the urine.

Drink more water right before the test, and it should be fine, but remember, i make no PROMISES>>> it varies from person to person...

I'm a heavy pot smoker and had 2 days notice before the drug test. I immediately stopped smoking (but what good would that do at that point anyway), I drank gallons of water, cranberry juice, stayed away from fatty foods, and drank some drink from GNC.
