Oxycodone

Developed in 1916, oxycodone is a medicine used to treat moderate to severe pain. Low dosage of the drug provides temporary relief from diarrhea. Its most common side effects include anxiety, constipation, memory loss, dizziness and dry mouth.

Is oxycodone making you gain weight?

Unfortunately, no. Wikipedia it.

The most commonly reported effects include constipation, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, lightheadedness, headache, dry mouth, anxiety, pruritus, euphoria, and diaphoresis.[66] It has also been claimed to cause dimness in vision due to miosis. Some patients have also experienced loss of appetite, nervousness, abdominal pain, diarrhea, dyspnea, and hiccups,[16] although these symptoms appear in less than 5% of patients taking oxycodone. Rarely, the drug can cause impotence, enlarged prostate gland, and decreased testosterone secretion.[67] In high doses, overdoses, or in patients not tolerant to opiates, oxycodone can cause shallow breathing, bradycardia, cold, clammy skin, apnea, hypotension, pupil constriction, circulatory collapse, respiratory arrest, and death.[16] There is a high risk of experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms if a patient discontinues oxycodone abruptly. Therefore therapy should be gradually discontinued rather than abruptly discontinued. People who use oxycodone in a hazardous or harmful fashion are at even higher risk of severe withdrawal symptoms as they tend to use higher than prescribed doses. The symptoms of oxycodone withdrawal are the same as for other opiate based painkillers and may include "anxiety, nausea, insomnia, muscle pain, fevers, and other flu like symptoms."[20] Withdrawal symptoms have also been reported in a newborn whose mother had been injecting OxyContin during pregnancy.[68]

Can dogs be euthanized with oxycodone?

If your dog NEEDS the drug, or any drug, a licensed veteranarian will prescribe the CORRECT amount & dosage per the dog's weight, age, etc. NEVER give a drug of ANY kind to ANY animal without the vet's prescription! Drug abuse is not limited to the human animal...

How long does Klonopin in system?

There are so many answers in this thread it is baffling. Some of the answers are accurate, semi-accurate and some are just down right wrong. It all depends on what test is used. The most widely used lateral flow immunoassays are calibrated for oxazepam at 300 ng/ml of urine. If it is positive they generally send it off for GC/MS testing. As someone already clearly stated what clonazepam breaks down to it would be redundant for me to do into that. Clonazepam does not metabolize to oxazepam. However, large doses over a period of time can lead to a positive immunoassay, ususally around 781 ng/ml of Clonazepam. The amount of actual non-metabolized clonazepam released in urine is less than 1-2%.

In a chronic low-dose user (less than 3mg per day), many test negative on immunoassay. Single dose users, dependent on dose generally test negative on immunoassays. If an immunoassay is calibrated toward 7-aminoclonazepam and clonazepam (they are available) they would produce a positive.

When expensive GC/MS testing is done due to a positive BZO lateral flow, the lab needs to know to look for Clonazepam and 7-amino clonazepam.

In sum, if someone stays off clonazepam for a few days, the likelyhood of a positive test by most used lateral flow immunoassay would be very slim. So, it would techinally would be a "false-negative" because the lab could detect it if looking for it with GC/MS. There is much literature online one can review. Academic literature is more accurate than others info. Alot of what people put out there is incorrect and/or incomplete.

Answer:

The short answer is: Stop taking the drug and wait. It'll be gone in a few days.

The catch is that, like all benzodiazipam category drugs, if you've been taking it for more then a month then you'll need to taper off slowly because of withdrawals (although extremely rare, 2 deaths have been attributed2).

Answer:

Not only can a drug test detect Klonopin, it can also measure the level, or amount of drug in the body.

Answer:

Klonopin® (generic: Clonazepam) is a benzodiazapine used to treat anxiety and panic disorders. It has a half-life of anywhere from 18-50 hours, meaning that is how long it takes your body to reduce the amount of clonazepam in your system by half.

If you took three 1 mg tablets, within one to two days, 50% of its major metabolite 7-aminoclonazepam (7-ACLO) will still be in your system, and detectable by urinalysis; within three to four days, 75% of the metabolite will have cleared; within five to six days, 87.5% will have cleared, and so on.

Unfortunately, because the rate of metabolism varies from person to person, the concentration of 7-ACLO measurable in the urine doesn't necessarily decline in a direct linear fashion. You may show peak concentration, the point at which the metabolite is highest and most easily detected, anywhere from the first to the eighth day after taking the drug. Depending on the sensitivity and specificity of the test, one 3 mg. dose of clonazepam is detectable in urinalysis at 14 days; and there is a 75-80% chance of it being detectable at 21 days. It may take 28-30 days for the medication to clear your body completely.1

Most likely, a low-cost employment or other screening test won't be sensitive enough to pick up the one-time use anywhere near that long (the above data came from a forensic study). A drug detection timetable for short-term use of benzodiazapines suggests you should be able to pass a drug test after 5-7 days (the upper end of the time line). This is not a guarantee, however.

Since benzodiazepines are metabolized by the liver and excreted in the urine, drinking a lot of water may help slightly, but won't increase the speed at which your body metabolizes the drug.

Accudiagnostics

I will do further checking of the medical journals later and repost my reply. I have been taking 4mg of Clonazepam (Klonopin) since my auto accident in 2006, when my car flipped, rolled 3 times, my airbag did not deploy, my seat-belt was on, and I had a fractured skull, vertebrae, and 5th metatarsal. I have Cerebral Palsy, which was mild until my accident. After my accident, I developed hammer toes and increased shakiness, etc. My doctor prescribed this medication and kept increasing the does until the problems that kept me from functioning and sleeping disappeared (yes, she was amazed that I tolerated the dosage without falling asleep in her office). A little less than 3 years ago, I moved to PA and found a new physician. I take 2mg of Clonazepam around 6A.M. and see my doctor in the afternoon and ALWAYS fail the urine test. I am researching to discover why (I am uncertain as to what type of urine screen they do, but was assured that it should show up in my urine). This has caused me a great deal of difficulty but one day, after my doctor's staff did not give her my messages about refilling my Rx (they were buried under papers on top of my file), I showed up at her office in withdrawal (my BP was around 160/130 something and pulse was in the 120s, and I felt awful. I can guarantee you that 8 hours after taking 2mg of Klonopin/Clonazepam that it did not show up in the urine tests. I am dealing with a new doctor at this clinic since November, and was told Wednesday (after calling about my refill Friday, Monday and Tuesday) that they would not refill my Rx, would not do any further tests and wanted to see me in 3 months. I requested a copy of my medical records, went to the ER (my BP was up again), I failed the urine test there, they gave me 2mg last night, watched me take it, checked my mouth (all at my request) and I am returning for another test this morning, which I know I will fail again.

"Insensitivity of benzodiazepine screen: only 40% for lorazepam; clonazepam (Klonopin) frequently negative on both EIA and GCMS."

How long does a 30 mg oxycodone stay in urine?

Its safe to say that depending on how much you use and how often, can be anywhere from 3-5 days.. basically if you have to take a drug test ur best bet would be to quit at least 5 days prior, cuz I found out the hard way! And there's different tests, it may not show up on the 3-panel stick which I've heard "on the street" doesnt show for ex: probation, but a 7 or 10 panel will 4, sho! Hope dat helps :)

Is Percocet and Oxycontin the same drug?

yes, oxycodone/acetaminophen is the same as percocet. actually percocet is just a brand name for oxycodone/acetaminaphen. The reason why a bottle would say oxycodone/acetaminophen and not percocet is because the pills are generic and don't have a brand name.

Where can you get oxycodone?

I assume you mean legally get it. Have an injury or surgery that a doctor prescribes it for...at least in the US. I'm not conversant with how every country works, and I know that some sell drugs that are prescription only in the US over the counter.

Does generic Oxycontin work as well as the name brand?

Unfortunately, Oxycontin does not come in generic form, and it's timed released action is patented and very expensive. Well that is not entirely correct as Oxycontin is not the only time released version of oxycodone, it does however have it's own patented release compound. Put this way lots of pharmacies will fill an Oxycontin RX with a generic time released oxycodone ...a similar sized pill of similar color per dose. In fact at one recent point there was generic owned by Purdue because all the other generics had stopped. Now all the sudden some ar back again it is crazy! Plus I hear from reliable sources that Oxycontin is now radically changed, the new ones even look new as they show the initials "OP" rather than "OC" on the new tablets I suppose the OP stands for oxycodone/purdue but unlike the originals, supposedly these new ones simply can not be abused in the ways the originals were (ie injected or snorted) I read they are now compounded in a gooey base that can't be crushed into a powder. It remains to be seen I suppose what happens to the generics still fighting to hang on. I can see the feds making the new "OP" pills the gold standard for anti abuse and force the generics into meeting a new spec or else face extinction. That is just a shame for patients that can not afford the brand name or even their share of the brand name if their RX provider caps off at a level well under that price! I can't see Purdue being granted a monopoly on this. It's an old drug well past the patent's expiration I'm sure, the only patent in play is the time release compound. How hard can it be to come up with more versions of a time release anti abuse gimicks ...maybe not even a goo? Perhaps a binary compound where a drug destroying agent sits harmlessly in embedded micropellets that will pass on through a person's digestive tract as long as the pill is swallowed as designed, but should anyone try crushing, heating, or grinding and the destructive agent is released all over the narcotic and instantly ruins it! Wll one of the generics already had a version that was way tougher to abuse than anything else, so much so that just like the new OP pills there were immediatly lots of complaints that not only could the drug not be separated for abuse, but that it also was not working well at all! The theory was too much stayed in compound instead of getting into the bloodstreams of legitimate patients! So now what? Patients will have to get dose increases to make up for these improved drugs inability to release 100% of the intended dose? More half baked ideas?

Can a urine test tell the difference between morphine and Oxycontin?

A urine test can detect if Oxycontin is present but cannot give a specific amount

actually, store bought urine tests cant tell how much you have taken but if sent to a lab they can detect levels of any drug in your system. so if your taking the test at home its a straight up yes or no answer but if your taking a test for probation or perole or something they can tell how much you have taken thru lab analysis.

What is stronger 10 mg vicodin or 7.5 mg percocet?

I have used percocet 500 and vicodin 750 for buldging discs and degenerative arthititis in my back. Persocet lasts longer, starts quicker, and provides more relief. I have not had any negative side effects except sonstipation.

Good luck.

Is hydrocodone the same as oxycodone?

They are similar in that both are synthetic opioids.

However, OxyContin is a brand name containing the generic oxycodone. Hydrocodone is a generic name used with the brand names Vicodin or Lortab.

Hydrocodone is less powerful than oxycodone. Thus, OxyContin is more powerful than hydrocodone.

Can you take ipuprofen and Percocet together?

I just had some bones fused in my foot. (Subtalor Arthrodesis).

And I checked with my Doctor and my pharmacy which I urge you to do also, for total peace of mind.

Yes you can take them together or what I was doing was the ibuprofen every two hours and the percocet every 4 to 6 hours as needed for the really severe pain.

The ibuprofen seemed to extend the pain killing peak of the percocet while effectivly managing the swelling under the compression bandage\cast.

Doseage was 8oomg Ibuprofen every 6 hours slipped in between the doseage times for the percocet. But I found what worked better was 4oomg every 2 to 4 hours as needed in addition to the percocet. It's working well to manage pain and swelling as well.

Generally yes, athough you shouldn't need to. The ibuprofen will supply more relief of inflammation. And the percocet will provide more pain relief from its narcotic and analgesic ingredients. but, they are not commonly prescribed together. If you received the prescriptions at different times, or are considering taking over the counter ibuprofen, you should ask your health care provider first.

Of course you can. I'm in the military and I just got my wisdom teeth removed and ibuprofen 800 mg along with percocet were both prescribed to me.

Yes. Percocet, much like hydro/oxycodone, contains tylenol. Ibuprofen is an entirely different drug than tylenol, and these are safe to take together. What you want to watch out for is taking too much tylenol.

Consult your doctor for more exact advice.

Is oxycodone stronger than endocet?

It depends on the strength. First, the active pain-killing narcotic ingredient in this medication is oxycodone. Percocet is made by a company called Endo. They also make a generic version called Endocet. With the exception of the pill's imprint and sometimes the color, both Percocet and Endocet are identical - from the oxycodone to the APAP to the fillers to the binders to the coatings. So, if you're asking if a 10/325 Endocet is stronger than a 10/325 Percocet, the answer is no - they are completely identical.

The Endocet brand is the only generic made by the company that makes Percocet, and is no different than taking brand-name Percocet. The other generic brands (the most common being Tyco-Mallinckrodt, Watson, and Interpharm) are not made by Percocet and instead adhere to the FDA's regulations on bioequivalence, using differing binders, fillers, and coatings. The amount of the active drug, oxycodone, is always regulated and identical.

Does opana have oxycodone in it?

Are you kidding me opana is one of the most powerful narcotic opiate pain medications on the market they are so powerful in fact that they are designed to be slowly released in your body over a period of 12 hours from a single dose so in short yes you get high off of opana. so be very careful with this medication it is very powerful. I can not stress enough if you are not familiar with this medication and have never taken it to be very careful overdose/DEATH are very common with this medication due to its extreme power and effect on the central nervous system most common cause of death due too overdose with this medication is respiratory failure (your lungs become paralyzed and you suffocate to death) With cardiac arrest coming in at a close second because it relaxes the heart rate and blood pressure to such an extent that it causes the heart to stop.

what qualifies me to answer this question Im on opana this very second and i study every medication i'm prescribed to a very extreme extant. always study meds your planning on taking. Its your body and life and sometimes doctors have alternative motivations and don't always have your best interest at the top of their list

How long does Oxycontin 80mg high last?

Usually 80mg OC's are only prescribed to terminally ill patients with a high tolerance for the drug already. I would not recommend taking over 30mg of OC at a time if you don't already have a tolerance; otherwise, there's a good chance you'll get sick and throw up the pill.

That being said, the high for an 80mg depends on your tolerance. With no tolerance, I would expect the effects to last around 6 hours, peaking around 90 minutes.

Why cant i feel my Oxycontin after being on methadone?

Methadone blocks the effects of Oxycontin and other opiates.

Why are you on Methadone and Oxycontin in the first place? And how much of each? Then you will have a more accurate answer than the above.

Well I might not be around to get your answer to my question so here it is:

Methadone is NOT an antagonist acting substance nor even a partial antagonist like SUBUXONE (buprenorphine). Methadone is used as replacement therapy for opiate addicts. It is typically more manageable and longer acting than other opiates.

If you are on both at the same time then you are feeling both of their effects and may have a higher tolerance now (which if you are not on methadone for opiate replacement, then you should talk to your doctor because you are on a quick and horrific road of opiate abuse if this is the case). If you were on Methadone and then switched to Oxycontin, it may be the case that your methadone dosage was stronger than the Oxycontin dosage you took and therefore you now have a higher tolerance.

What if you take 3 oxycodone 5 325 pills?

It depends entirely on the person's tolerance. For someone like me who uses the highest dose and goes through 120/150 per month, taking 5 would reduce my pain a bit faster, but that's about it. For me and others like me, it's like taking aspirin.

However, for someone not tolerant to the effects of opiates, it could easily send the person into respiratory arrest, leading to brain damage and/or death if not revived in time. It would of course depend on the person and the dosage of Percocet involved.

In someone not tolerant, they would likely get drowsy within 20 - 30 minutes, then eventually pass out, then if susceptible enough, respiratory failure (due to the nervous system being depressed by the opiates) would eventually lead to cardiac arrest and death.

Is oxycodone IR and OxycodoneAPAP the same medications except one has acetaminophen?

one is percocet; the other is the generic of percocet 5mg/325mg acetaminophen. they have the same chemical make up of oxycodone(5mg) and tylenol/acetaminaphen (325mg). APAP is an abbreviation for acetaminophen

How long do withdrawal symptoms from oxycodone show in newborns?

No, infants should not take oxycodone without first consulting with a qualified medical professional. Oxycodone is a potent opioid pain medication that can have serious side effects, including respiratory depression, even in adults. Infants are particularly vulnerable to the respiratory depressant effects of opioids, which can be life-threatening. Therefore, it is crucial to seek medical advice before giving any medication, including oxycodone, to an infant. Additionally, it is important to follow dosing instructions carefully and to monitor the infant closely for any signs of adverse effects.

Can Oxycontin be smoked?

Most Defiantly. My boyfriend is addicted to smoking OC's... he can barely stay away when he's high. I highly recommed NOT doing it... it will take control of your life.

Will you fail a probation drug test if you have a script for hydrocodone and took a oxycodone?

Possibly. Lortab contains the same ingredients as Vicodin: hydrocodone and acetaminophen.

Hydrocodone is an opiate medication, but since it is synthetic - breaks down into different ingredients, and it is the leftovers they are looking for on the test. So, if the test would normally pick up metabolites of Vicodin, then yes. If not, you're okay.

It is important, if you have a prescription for Lortab, that you disclose it at the time of your test. That way they will know why there are opiates in your system. They can't fault you for having a valid prescription.

If you don't have a valid prescription, then wait for 4 days and it will be out of your system.

What is the difference between percocet 5 and vicodin 5?

Tylox is stronger than Vicodin and can not be called in over the phone by your physician. You have to present a paper prescription for this medication. It is actually Percocet with ex-strength Tylenol mixed in.

What happens of you mix oxycodone and weed?

MAN! its great, just do little bits of each at first (: i just dropped 10mg oxy, adn smoked a huge pipe bowl and im ripped
