Both opiate medications are very powerful painkillers that achieve the exact same results. The hydromorphone has 16mg of opiates and the oxycodone has 60mg of opiates. Both are time release so don't cut them in half and then take them or you could overdose.

Its always best to take the lowest dosage that works and increase that dose only when the lower dose is no longer working. Whatever you do be sure to stay in contact with your doctor before making any changes in dosage of any medication but this is especially true with any opiate medication.

It's also a good idea to have some Narcan on hand just in case of an accidental overdose . Narcan can and will will save your life. Your doctor can prescribe Narcan for you and it's cheep..

Opiate pain medication is highly addictive and that addiction will creep up on you and you won't see it until it's late. Take it from an old veteran it's no fun being addicted to opiates then trying to get clean. It will be one of the hardest things to have to go through. Unfortunately for most addicts it usually doesn't end well.

You can take a plain Tylenol (acetaminophen) along with oxycodone if it is plain oxycodone. Do not take too much acetaminophen - if your oxycodone already has acetaminophen or APAP in it, don't take more on top of what's already there.

No, you cannot. since hydromorphone is morphine with an extra oxygen molecule that allows it to pass through the blood brain barrier faster (much like heroin is actually morphine also but with an extra acetyl molecule), you will still have the same allergic reaction. try Oxycodone (percocet) or Hydrocodone (Vicodin) instead.

Hydrocodone and Oxycontin contain the same active drug... oxycodone. So 10mg of Hydrocodone and 10 mg of Oxycontin have the same amount of Oxycodone (10 mg) in them. The only difference is that the Hydrocodone contains Tylenol in addition to the Oxycodone. So on the Hydrocodone bottle it might say something like 10/500. So the Hyrocodone in that instance has 10 mg of oxycodone and 500mg of Tylenol.

Im dying to know the answer to this one to. i took 200mg Valium over 2 nights, waited 2 nights and now im wondering if it is safe to take 10mg of oxycodone (Snort)

Methadone is stronger than oxycodone by up to 5 to 8 times depending on individual differences. Methadone can be used for pain but the typical doses of methadone for narcotic withdrawal are less than would be used for pain. One word of caution, methadone has a longer withdrawal cycle than oxycodone and can last up to two weeks. If the intention is getting off the oxys I would suggest suboxone. Getting off of methadone can be much more difficult than getting off oxys. Having said that, Methadone can work quite well for people with chronic IBS where other anti-diarrheals do not work. Methadone can turn into a life long maintenance, so you should very carefully weigh the alternatives, and if the only alternative is Methadone, then God help you and best of luck. If there are any other alternatives other than methadone, try that first. Methadone should only be the very last resort. Methadone will not provide the long term euphoria that oxys provide. So if the intent is recreational use, you will soon lose the euphoric feeling but still experience withdrawals which by many accounts is far worse than oxys. Methadone is not well suited for recreational use, so if that is the root of the question, do not take it, or you will be sorry. If it is the last resort, it can be a life saver.

I am not a doctor nor a pharmacist, so my answer is entirely from experience with the two drugs. Naproxen 500 is WEAK in comparison to oxycodone 500. Naproxen if anything is more of a anti inflammatory, oxycodone can get you "high", naproxen not so much.

how many mg's of suboxone and for how long were you taking it? and how many mg's of oxycodone are you taking? 4mg of suboxone hangs around for about 24 hrs until the bup starts leaving the receptors and then you will be able to experience a mild high, 32 hrs and you are able to get a buzz and by 40-48 hrs you are completely able to get the full effect of your oxycodone. start with a medium dose at 24 hrs to get the bup to loosen up off the receptors and use your intended dose at 32 hrs. once your first 2 doses wear off your third dose should be enough to kick the rest of the bup off the receptors and let you enjoy your oxycodone. just remember because you don't feel high dosent mean you cant overdose so be careful on that first dose especially and don't go chasing a peak high on your second dose either. if you were on 8mgs of sub, then multiply those time frames by 2, 2mg and divide by half, you get it

I Have heard 2-4 days. Apparently, it all depends on a number of factors, ie: weight, frequency and amount used ect.... I have also heard that it does not show up on a standard test and has to be tested for seperately, and the test is expensive. If you only use it once or twice a week, I would try and give 3 days before a test. If you are on randoms, find out when they tell you to test and when the lab is open, and how long you have to drop after they tell you and you might have a nice window on the fri night to get high! If you are in a bind, I hear that the best thing is vigorous excercise and drink lots of water and sweat in the sauna!

Yes, and No. I have been taking offbrand vicodin for back pain. I also drug test every week for probation. I have never tested (preliminary) positive for any drug. Hydrocodone (vicodin) does not show up in a dip stick test for some reason. Morphine almost certainly would give a preliminary positive. They would then send the sample to the lab for further gc/ms testing. They would be able to then discern the difference between the two substances after this lab test.

you know i bet you could. oxycodone is metabolized to oxymorphone so at least some would show.

Oxymorhone is a metabolite of Oxycodone. But the reverse is not true. Meaning, if you were trying to pass a test for Oxycodone and you were taking Opana (Oxymorphone), you COULD pass because Oxycodone breaks DOWN into Oxymorphone. But Oxymorphone does not metabolize into Oxycodone. Assuming the physician, employer or whoever is giving your test decides to use a test that will break down exactly what kind of pain medication was used, they're going to see that there is Oxycodone AND Oxymorphone in your system.

\What you are saying makes little since. Both drugs in the end are oxymorhone so weather you are taking oxycodone or opana they will both show up the same. If a GC test was performed($850.00) a really good tech may be able to tell the difference but in most cases it would be inconclusive. I am a MD .

No, Percocet does not have opium in it. Opium is the dried latex of the opium poppy. It is a complex mixture of chemicals, containing narcotics such as morphine and codeine. Percocet contains acetaminophen and oxycodone. Oxycodone is a semi-synthetic opioid, it does not occur naturally in opium (though it can be synthesized from chemicals in opium).

First of all, you need a pain management doctor, a legitimate back problem or some type of chronic pain that never goes away, and proof via x-rays or other tests in order to be prescribed Oxycontin. The only opiate you will be prescribed without proof is, if you're lucky, Vicodin... maybe even Percocet. if you're REALLY lucky.

It will takes MONTHS to be able to get prescribed Oxycontin. And even then, it's not guaranteed. Doctors are scared about the DEA swooping in and lifting on their license because of the certain doctors who prescribed OC loosely and got locked up, or trust me, doctors would be a little more lenient to prescribe them. It's a shame, because for those of us in serious pain, Oxycontin is probably one of the best medications out there for a lot of people.

I have not had my blood pressure check while taking my oxycodone, but it noticeably increases my heart rate. My average heart rate is between 80-90, but sometimes after I take oxy I check itbecause it feels like it's racing. During those times my heart rate is usually 100-110. I don't have any heart problems or high blood pressure so it has to he the oxy. And I'd guess if you're heart is racing, blood pressure is probably high too!

Both will show up as a positive for opiates, however there are tests that specifically test for oxycodone (same as roxy's). You'll have to look at the test panal and see what catagories are tested for specifically.

The absolute best way is to drink as much water as you possibly can for a day or two. This will eliminate the drug from your body 2-3x faster.
