What is better for chronic pain methadone 5 mg or oxycodone 30 mg?
Patches - Roxiecodone isn't even in the same league as Fentanyl when it comes to overall pain relief, as Roxiecodone is an acute pain med, not a chronic pain med.
Aside from strength, Fentanyl patches last 48-72 hours, and the dropoff point to withdrawal symptoms takes hours, not a short period like it does with acute meds like Roxiecodone. You also feel a lot more normal and can deal with activities better.
The downside is that once they're on, you need to keep them on for pain relief; there is much more flexibility with pills. But if you're in a constant state of chronic, severe pain, Fentanyl patches are the only way to go.
Is it safe to take duragesic 50mg patch with Oxycontin?
Yes, it is. Or It has been fine for me. I have been on the two for 5 years now. Over time you will need to increase the dosage of both. The 'Duragesic Patch' goes up to 100 mg.
You're really persistant. I still think the glass of water and walk will do.
Does liquid oxycodone and pill show up the same on a drug test?
The answer to your question is YES, Oxycodone Liquid or pill form shows up on any standard drug test as an Opiate, some test can show the amount of opiate however most standard drug screenings don't. Others like Codeine, Vicoden, Percocet and even suboxone all are opiate based drugs that will show definitively positive for Opiates.
How close is the molecuar structure of hydrocodone and oxycodone?
The two are very close. Oxycodone differs in that is has a hydroxyl group at Carbon 14 (hydrogen/oxygen rather than just hydrogen), hence the name "Oxy" in Oxycodone.
Of the 2, Oxycodone is the more potent, being 15-20 times stronger than Codeine; Hydrocodone, by comparison, is only 6 times as strong.
What happens when you mix oxycotton with alcohol?
I don't know what always happens, but I know a 35 year old woman who lost her life on 11/02/08 because she drank heavily and then took 2 oxycontins. She went to sleep and never woke up. She had done this same thing many times before and suffered no ill affects. This time she wasn't so lucky. Her family is devistated. Her mother is near a mental breakdown. And for what?
What is the difference between oxycodone 5mg and oxy codone 5mg325mg?
Oxycontin is time-release oxycodone. so, oxycodone would be instant release. YOu can scrape the coating off the OC 80s to make them instant, but ir you have an OP 80 then its stuck as extended release cuz purdue is replacing their stock with "unabusable pills"
Can you take Xanax and oxycodone together?
Yes. I had to call the pharmacy myself about this one and he said it was ok. My question to him was actually if you can take an oxycodone(percocet) and a xanax and then phenegran ( for the nausea that percocet gives me). He said yes, it would just make you really really tired. I asked can you take them all at the same time and he said it was best to wait a little bit between taking the xanax and then taking the other two. No particular order of which to take first.
***However: ALWAYS monitor CRS (respiratory system). This combination causes respiratory depression. Severe respiratory depression can lead to suffocation/death. (i.e. Heath Ledger) Essentially, this means "you stop breathing"***
What is the proper dosage of Oxycodone for dogs?
You should call your vet or call an emergency vet after hours. Don't rely on answers here when it comes to something so important like your loving pet. Be smart and think. I don't mean to be rude, sorry, I have two cats and two poodles and I would never go with advice from strangers about medicine for my pets.

Is oxycodone withdrawal worse than hydrocodone withdrawals?
yes, oxycodone is way worse. however i have managed through getting out daily. i have used soma and ambien to sleep and clonidine for blood pressure with has helped alot. daily I take vitamins and alieve. the first day was the worse for me, but suprisingly the 2nd day was better and the third day( today) is ok. i did take the meds as prescribed, however I was still at 120mgs daily. My injury area is the main problem i deal with at this time. I had accidently dropped the remainder of my pills down the sink and cant fill for a week. so I have no choice but to go through this. Whenever I am healed, i do intend to taper off, not cold turkey.
I am telling the truth this happened in July its already Jan why would i bring this up if im still trying to figure out how it happen. they also said it could have been morphine
this is from drugs.com: Buprenorphine is an opioid medication. Buprenorphine is similar to other opioids such as morphine, codeine, and heroin however, it produces less euphoric ("high") effects and therefore may be easier to stop taking.......
Naloxone blocks the effects of opioids such as morphine, codeine, and heroin. If Suboxone is injected, naloxone will block the effects of buprenorphine and lead to withdrawal symptoms in a person with an opioid addiction. When administered under the tongue as directed, naloxone will not affect the actions of buprenorphine.
I just don't understand and it still bothers me to this date. 6 months later may i add
they said i had a very low level in my system. i told them to retest it and they said they do when it usually has a positive result. I was on house arrest when this happened i am so lucky that they believed me. i think they could tell that i was telling the truth. I read on some sites that it make cause a false positive depending on who is doing the gcms test
Edit**Hey it happened to me too dude at outpatient...luckily it wasnt my freedom on the line or the law after my ass...however looking that guilty when you are doing so well is a major bummer. Sometimes its just a fluke though and the counselor said that as long as its a fairly low level they know you are not using. Only over a certain level in your urine do they get really suspicious usually.
I know that the original Oxycontin does have time release but I am not sure about any of the generic brands. The time release on Oxycontin can be removed by peeling off the outer color (that is the time release)
Oxycontin (generic and name brand) is time released (the 'contin' in Oxycontin stands for continuous) but there are brands availabe without the time release coating. The only one I'm aware of is Roxicodone, which is 15mg of oxycodone and is fast-acting, due to the lack of the time release coating. Roxicodone is normally prescribed for breakthrough pain. But yes, Oxycontin the time release feature only works if the coating is not peeled off, or if the pill is cut in half or quarters. That's the only way to get all the medication of an Oxy out at once. But unless you're opiate-tolerant (meaning you have taken Oxycontin every day for several months straight), I wouldn't recommend it. Trust me, when I tried a 20mg Oxycontin for the first time with the time release still on it, it worked wonders. *sigh* I miss those days. Never abuse Oxy, you will regret it! It never feels the same after you abuse it for years, even if you go a week without any!

What is the difference between a brand name and a generic drug?
brand name medications are the original maker of tthe drug that first patented the drug. once the patent expires other companies are allowed to manufacture the samw drug but can use different "fillers" that may be cheaper so that the drug can be sold at a cheaper price. the main part of the medicine is still the same as the name brand but its just cheaper filler additives example: name brand lortab has hydrocodone and tylenol in it.....the generic would have the same quality hydrocodone but they may use a off brand tylenol or add a different binding agent than the name brand uses
Can oxycodone IR 5 mg and lorazepam .05 mg be taken together?
Yes, I have taken the two together but talk with your doctor first, don't just go ahead and do it. I have taken a regiment of Oxycontin 20mg twice daily, Percocet 5/325- 1-2 4 times daily, Oxycodone IR 5mg 3 times a day (for break-through pain) and Lorazepam .5mg 3 times a day after brain surgery. Like I said though, speak with your doctor first, don't just take it.
