Yes they do, both will show up as opiates in your system. The person administering the test won't know if your on Oxycontin, Hydrocodone or even Heroin. It will just give a positive result for opiates like any opiate drug will. You cannot tell which opiate from a urine test.

You can, but it's typically not recommended since both drugs are chronic pain medications generally prescribed in their timed-release form. Either one or the other is used - OxyContin lasts up to 12 hours, while Fentanyl, generally prescribed as a transdermal patch, can last up to 72 hours. Oral Fentanyl and OxyContin can used, but again it's generally not done unless the Fentanyl is in pill form and short acting. Fentanyl is more likely to be prescribed as the primary chronic pain med with Percocet (which has Oxycodone, the base drug for OxyContin, the time release version) for breakthrough pain.

As long as you're using one as a timed-release drug and the other in short acting form (4-6 hours), it's okay. It's using both together in timed-release versions where problems can arise.

It is perfectly ok to use both, contrary to above. I suffer from chronic pain, and take 20mg Oxycontin 2 times a day, and apply a 75mcg fentanyl patch every 72 hours. I have been on each seperatly and I find several pain "holes". but on both, I can actually function to 95% of my original capabilities.

Actually the above poster is correct. I take 240mg of Oxycontin a day and my dr prescribed 100umg fentanyl to better even out the levels of narcotics I had in my system. Now this just happened to be what worked for me so you should ask your doctor before trying. Fentanyl is some bad mojo if abused.

Benzos like oxazepam, lorazepam, diazepam, etc. each vary, but in general benzodiazepines stay in your blood, and therefore urine, for a long time; anywhere from three weeks to two months, depending on the drug and individual metabolic rate. The Non-benzo alternative to benzos, zopiclone (Immavane?) and zolpidem (Ambien) are pretty effective sleep aids that most places don't test for; even if they do, they are usually out of your blood within 60 - 72 hours after ingestion.

Yes, I have been on oxycodone for approx 8 yrs and taking antidepressants also for the entire time. It may take some time to find the right one and correct dosage for you but it definitely is available. Explain to your doctor what is going on and they can get you started on them. Depression is common among people who suffer from chronic pain. Good luck

Yes they can. The tests at my doctors can definitely tell the difference. one will show up has Oxycontin and the other will show as oxycodone. Now they have tests to make sure patients are using the drugs prescribed. Depending on the test the dr. uses it will tell this difference

However, when prescribed as a chronic pain med, Fentanyl Transdermal Patches are typically the opiate therapy of last resort for severe chronic pain patients, who have used all other lesser forms of opiates without long term success, their opiate tolerance has exceeded acute pain med limits, or their pain requires 24/7 relief. Most acute meds like Oxycodone only last 4-6 hours; the longest lasting timed-release version of Oxycodone (OxyContin) at best last 12 hours. Fentanyl patches last anywhere from 48-72 hours depending on the patient and their opiate tolerance level.

The biggest difference of course is strength; Fentanyl is the strongest opiate on the planet, and is 100x stronger than morphine.

It's a sort of bright reddish orangey color. It says OC on one side and 60 on the other. Sorry to tell you but purdue pharmacy's do not make a 60mg oxycontin. But roxycodone does have a 60mg oxycodone pill that i can't rmember what it looks like.So if it says OC on one side it will only say 10,20,40,80,160 on the other side.* *Edit from Tjeyw721: Actually, the first answer is correct. Around here, they're called "cherry bombs." I have seen them. They are fairly new. They also come in 30mgs, which are a tannish color, which I've also seen. They are legit, they have 30 on one side and OC on the other. Same with the 60mgs. (60 on one side, OC on the back).

It all depends on your body weight and tolerance. If you've never taken Vicodin before, 5mg orally (taking the pill whole) would probably produce a slight buzz/dizziness. Crushing and snorting the pill would yield stronger and more immediate results.

you're an idiot, no they will not show up the same...it will show up that you have taken two different schedule two narcotics which are derivatives of cocaine and morphine. It might show up as cocaine at first but with further testing it will reveal that you took prescription narcotics. Just show the drug testing company your script for these two and you will be fine....oh, you don't have one? That sucks....PS if you take 4500mg of anything you would be in a narcotic induced coma, I can usually take 60 to 80mg of hydrocodone in one day but perc's more like 50 to 60mgs before I barf everywhere.

In my experience with drug abuse, when it doubt start with 1 and work your way up. I am not sure if 50 mg's of this substance is considered a high or low dose, so dose accordingly. Do some research on the internet and be safe. No point in dying just trying to get high. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE TAKING DRUGS YOU DO NOT HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH. I cannot stress this enough. Good luck.

generic have a different binder which is harder to snort

Oxycontin is pure oxycodone, while Watson brand oxycodone is genaric and contains acetominofen which is Tylenol. if you are using it recreationally id suggest staying away from genaric pills with acetominofen because it can become toxic to the liver causing it to shut down in high doses.

I am not sure I understand your question. As far as Oxycodone (instant release), I don't believe Purdue, the maker of brand name Oxycontin even makes a brand name Oxcodone.

If you are talking about Oxycontin (controlled release) which is released into your system slowly, it was originally produced by the Purdue company. At this time, they have given Watson permission to make, sell and distribute this drug, so I am assuming that it is made to Purdues quality and control.

Many people get confused as to what the difference is between oxycodone and Oxycontin.

Oxycodone is the name of the drug. It can be combined with acetaminphen (Percocet, Tylox, to name a few) or aspirin (Percodan is one brand name). It is also combined in cough surpressants and other medications.

Oxycontin (the "contin" means continious) is sold in different strengths, and is used alone soley for time released pain relief. This medications is suppose to last for up to 12 hours, but many times people have episodes of "breakthrough pain" and they are also given oxycodone to help get them through, until their next dose of the contolled release med.

It is important that you never break or chew Oxycontin, as you will then get the entire dose which could cause an overdose.

The only way that would be possible is if they had at least a moderate amount on their skin and they touched ( or more likely,RUBBED) your mucous membranes. For example, if they had quite a bit on their penis and inserted it in your vagina as the vagina has a lot of mucous membranes. Casual touching? No.Not possible.

I'm on 2x200mg tramadol SR daily and am currently also on 2x1mg Champix daily and have suffered no adverse interactions between the two.

I find both make me slightly nauseous around an hour after ingesting, but if taken on a full stomach or at different times I don't find it a problem.

My GP didn't flag any possible interaction problems either.

Good luck on giving up smoking too! I assume that's why you're taking Champix(?)

No matter how long you take percocet, which is an synthesized opiate - It will clear your system in four to six days. Fact ! But if you have taken it for a couple months you will go through a hellish withdrawal if you just stop taking it "cold turkey" as they say !

Codeine and Oxycodone are from the same family "OPIATES". Your urine test will show up as positive for opiates. The UA has no way to distinguish whether it is codeine or Oxycodone.

Lortab is the brand name for hydrocodone and acetaminophen (tylenol). Hydrocodone is not the same as oxycodone and oxycodone is much stronger than hydrocodone. Oxycodone drugs include OxyContin, Percocet, etc.

So a simple answer, oxycodone is stronger.
