Tony Iommi, a former school mate of Ozzy,s saw the ad, not certain that it was the same guy that he went to school with. When Iommi realized it was the same Ozzy Osbourne that he had went to school with, the two set about forming a band, which included Bill Ward & Terrence "Geezer" Butler. The band were known by several names including Earth, but they changed their name to Black Sabbath when they discovered that a jazz band had the same name.
