What is the relevance of the workers in the vineyard to the ministry?

The point behind that parable is it doesn't matter at what age you are when you come to Christ. If you are 4 or 84, you get the same reward, which is heaven.

Why is the parable of the tenants significant?

In the parable of the tenants (found in Matthew 21, Mark 12, and Luke 20), the vineyard owner represents God, the servants represent the Old Testament prophets, the owner's only son represents Jesus, and the tenants represent the Pharisees.

The Pharisees had been entrusted with God's word, and they were to to sow it among the people. When God sent prophets in the Old Testament, they were ridiculed and persecuted. When God sent His Son, they denied Him as their Master, refused to listen to Him, and were responsible for His death. Jesus says that the vineyard owner would naturally kill the tenants and give the vineyard to others who will give the owner his dues.

In this parable, Jesus is warning the Pharisees that they would be destroyed, and others would take their place. According to history, by about 70 AD Israel was destroyed and the Jews were either killed, scattered, or enslaved. Peter, Paul, and other devout Christians were given the responsibility of guarding and distributing the message of God and Jesus.

What is the message of the workers in the vineyard to you as christian?

This parable illustrates the truth that while all true disciples will be rewarded, the order of rewards will be determined by the spirit in which the disciple served.

Jesus closed the parable with the words, “So the last will be first, and the first last” (see Matthew 19:30). There will be surprises in the matter of rewards. Some who thought they would be first will be last because their service was inspired by pride and selfish ambition. Others who served out of love and gratitude will be highly honored.

In the parable of the sower what unwanted plant causes some of the seeds to die?

All three accounts of this parable (Matthew 13, Mark 4 and Luke 8) refer to the offending plant as "thorns." As Jesus later explains, these represent worldly cares that overwhelm spiritual concerns in one's heart. They don't cause some of the seeds to die; they completely ruin the seeds' productivity.

Prodigal son in the bible?

The parable of the Prodigal Son can be found in the Gospel of Luke chapter 15. The parable is one of three Jesus told in reply to the Pharisees and scribes when they complained saying ........"This Man receives sinners and eats with them." Luke 15:2.

The father in the parable represents God. The prodigal/youngest son represents Israel and the oldest son represents the Pharisees and the scribes.

What truth is there in religion?

the most truthful religion is Christianity, it is very peaceful

For starters how many wars have been started from just someone disagreeing w/your religion? Think about the crusades.. yeah Christians started some of them.

That is not correct. For there is no true religion. Personally there is 1 higher being, God if you will, and all religions are just certain peoples way of getting to the higher being. And it doesn't matter how just as long as it brings you peace and tranquility in your life... so to say that 1 religion is better than another is an ignorant comment to say.

Could also look at religion as a way to form a perfect society.. i mean w/o religion people would be More murderous, thievish, or just plan wrong. It shows how a perfect society would live w/o a government. So i think its safe to say that religion was created by a group of geniuses bent on making chaos, give false hope, or was to uniform everyone. To believe that there is a pain or punishment in the after life would and does keep people in line, most of the time. But to think it was created from scholars would destroy the foundation of all religrion for any organized religrion would be wrong but personal worship of a higher power would not be for there is no conformaty. I hope that helps or enlightens

In the parable of the sower what did the seed that fell among thorns represent?

Jesus explains what they mean in Luke 8.

Luke 8:11

11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. 12 The ones along the path are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. 13 And the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But these have no root; they believe for a while, and in time of testing fall away. 14 And as for what fell among the thorns, they are those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature.15 As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.

The other cross reference to Luke 8 where Jesus is explaining the same point is found in Mark 8:2-20, and specifically the following Scripture in 18, 19:

Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful. (NIV)

Who told the story about leaving 99 to search for one lost sheep?

Luke 15:4New King James Version (NKJV)

4 "What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?

This story is being told by Jesus. Sheep are a metaphor for humans. Jesus is the Good Shepherd who came to the lost so they too may be found, repent, be baptized and become worthy of eternal life with Him and His Father. This is exactly what He did during His earthly Ministry. Most, if not all of us, are lost.

What is the setting of the lost son?

It also means all of us who are lost in sin and must repent and return to the father.

Why did the lawyer question Jesus in the Parable of the Good Samaritan?

In Luke chapter 10 we are told the lawyer was testing Jesus.....

Luke 10:25 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"

......maybe to see if Jesus understood the law, or whether He would say any thing contrary to it, or maybe the lawyer wanted to gain an advantage against Jesus, and expose Him, and get credit and applause to himself.

Jesus directed his attention to the law. What did the law demand? It demanded that man love the Lord supremely, and his neighbor as himself. Jesus told him that if he did this, he would live.

The lawyer then asks another question "who is my neighbour?" to the Jews a neighbour was an Israelite, a person of the same religion.

In telling the parable Jesus was saying even your enemy is your neighbour.

What is the moral lesson of the parable of the Sick woman and dead girl?

If you mean the stories in Matthew 9:20ff, then these are not parables they are recounts of something that happened.
A parable is story that illustrates a truth in order to explain it, to make the truth easier to understand. A parable puts something familiar alongside something unfamiliar, it compares something unfamiliar with something familiar. A parable is similar to a fable or an allegory or a proverb but parables are generally concerned with spiritual matters.
