What penicillin can be used for STDs?
It can't hurt... Unless the STD is fungal, like a yeast infection, or tinea cruris "jock itch".
Antibiotics (Penicillin) kill bacteria--- bacteria kills fungi = Much worse than you were before.
Penicillin is only effective on bacterial STDs, which are the most common.
Viral STDs are the one kind you don't want! NOTHING cures them. Some you can treat the symptoms and eventually the virus will leave your body.. but some kill you.
Parasites- (crabs and scabies) are cured with Permethrin, basically it's an insecticide.
Protozoal- (trichomoniasis) is cured with Metronidazole, it's an antibiotic... but Penicillin probably wont work because trichomonissis is an anaerobic bacteria.
So to break it down
If you don't know what kind of STD you have then I would suggest taking the Penicillin. If it gets better great, no needs to know what kind it was. If it gets worse, then its fungal and can be cured with anti-fungal meds. If there is no change it could be viral, parasitic, or protozal... and pray its not viral.
It is highly unlikely that you will be able to obtain a prescription for Penicillin from a physician if you do not have an established, legitimate medical reason for needing it. If you have reason to believe that you have unknowingly contracted a sexually transmitted disease, immediately request a medical examination. If it is determined that you do indeed have an STD and need Penicillin, then and only then should you take it.
Further, Penicillin is known to cause a number of adverse side effects, such as: rashes, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and neurotoxicity. It isn't worth the risk unless you are certain you need it.
Does apo-indomethacin contain penicillin?
Apo-indomethacin is not an antibiotic and doesn't contain penicillin.
What is the difference between penicilin and streptomycin?
Peniciilin is derived from Penicillium chrysogenum and is active against Gram-positive bacteria. It connects peptidoglycan strands by irreversibly interacting with transpeptidase and prohibits the last cell wall synthesis.
Streptomycin-sulfate is derived from Streptomyces griseusan and is an aminoglycoside antibiotic. It is active against Gram-negative bacteria and Mycobacteria and inhibits initiation of the protein biosynthesis.
Penicillin and Streptomycin are often used together.
Can you take erythromycin and penicillin together?
Although some in vitro data indicate synergism between macrolide antibiotics and penicillins, other in vitro data indicate antagonism. When these drugs are given together, neither has predictable therapeutic efficacy. Data are available for erythromycin, although theoretically this interaction could occur with any macrolide. Except for monitoring of the effectiveness of antibiotic therapy, no special precautions appear to be necessary.
NOTE: Always take medications as prescribed and directed by your physician, with any advice from your pharmacist.
The antibiotic properties of penicillin were first recognized by A. Flemming in 1928. Commercial production of penicillin came from the pioneer work of E. Chain and H.W. Florey in 1938. Penicillin was made available to allied troops in the latter part of World War II.

Do Varenicline tablets contain penicillin?
No, Varenicline is indicated for smoking cessation because it has nonaddictive nicotine in it, which helps you quit smoking.
so no it doesn't have penicillin in it :)
Can penicillin cause increased heart rate?
I am quite sure that it does a bit because its a penciller... its to make you relaxed but it really making your heart faster... yours truley,Noor....
Is Erythromycin and penicillin in the same category?
YES they are related but they are distant cousins.. i am allergic to pennicillin but not to erythromycin. i have been on antibiotics serveral times so i am 100 percent sure of this.. i have had to have erythromycin before and they watched me in the emergency room to make sure i didnt have a reaction.. they are related but since they are only related close enough to be distant cousins they will often try people who are allergic to pennicillin on erythromycin. my aunt can not take either one but i am lucky enough to be able to take the erythromycin but with pennicillin i can not breath!
Did penicillin help in the trenches?
If you are talking about WWI trenches, given that penicillin was discovered in 1938, no, it did not help
What connects the man who discovered penicillin with the creator of James Bond?
Their last names.
Ian Fleming wrote James Bond.
Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin.
What is the difference between ciprofloxacn and penicillin?
ciprofloxacin is a class of antibiotic that works by a different mechanism to kill bacteria than penicillin.
penicillin works by preventing bacteria that have a compound called peptidoglycan in their cell wall from completely forming. the penicillin binds to a certain amino acid sequence in the peptidoglycan and prevents the bacterial cell from completely forming the cell wall which causes the bacterial cell to have structural instability, causing cellular death.
ciprofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone type of antibiotic that interferes with the synthesis of bacterial DNA by preventing the function of a certain enzyme which kills the bacterial cell by preventing its replication process.
How many units of penicillin vk are there in 200mg of penicillin vk?
the units of penicillin V potassium 200 mg is about equivalent to 320,000 units. In generally 1 mg of penicillin V potassium is 1600 units.
Is levofloxacin a sulphur containing drug?
No. I am allergic to Sulpha drugs and I can take levofloxacin.
How much penicillin does a mushroom contain?
penicillin and mushrooms are not similar, the ingredients psilocybin and psilocin are similar in spelling but are vastly different, you should be fine, if you are feeling very paranoid then eat a smal chunk of one, wait 24 hours, if you have no signs of an allergic reaction then you will be fine, although i am very sure that you will have no problems
Penicillin and ampecillin are produced (synthetically)-->from certain molds, mushrooms not being one of these molds..Although you can grow penicillin when trying to grow mushrooms a good rule of thumb is if it fruits there is no penicillin present.
As see on site @ and quoted as such from @ http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/1016107
Mary Hunt known as Mouldy Mary was a researcher involved in the development of ways to mass produce Penicillin. She was fascinated with finding new sources of mould and would often acquire moldy fruit from markets. In 1943 she found that penicillin grew best on moldy melons.
What animal do you get penicillin from?
penicillin comes from mold. A scientist was experimenting with bacterial cultures when they were ruined by mold growing on them and he asked why. The result was penicillin. Other scientists had noticed the same thing years previously but had not asked why.
