There is no such thing as Percocet 30's. What you are thinking of is Roxicodone. That is pure Oxycodone and it comes in 5mg, 15mg, and 30mg. You will need to be seen by a pain management doctor and be evaluated to see if you are in enough pain to get that high of a dosage. I'm a chronic pain patient and I'm on Roxicodone 15. And that was only after extensive testing and going from Codeine to Hydrocodone 5, 7.5, and 10 to Oxycodone 5, 7.5, and 10 to finally Roxicodone 15. Unless you can find a REALLY liberal doctor who is just handing out narcotic scripts, you're out of luck.

On a personal note, if you are trying to get these to get high, you are making it personally EXTREMELY hard for chronic pain patients like myself to get adequate pain relief because of drug addicts like you. It's disgraceful. However, if you are actually in pain, then a doctor should have no problem referring you to a PM doctor and then letting the PM doctor prescribe you what HE thinks is best for you.

A word of advice, don't TELL him you want to start off with 30mg of Oxycodone. You will be labeled as a drug seeker and be red flagged by EVERY hospital and doctor in your general area. Let HIM prescribe what HE thinks is adequate pain relief. If it doesn't work, take it for a week then call him and say it isn't working and you think you either need to come in to be re-evaluated or you need something stronger called in. But they can't call in Oxycodone because it's a CII drug. Watch out for the DEA. That's all I'm saying.

Percocet is Oxycodone and Tylenol - Lortab (another brand name for Vicodin) is Hydrocodone and Tylenol.

Percocet is a Schedule II narcotic, and requires a prescription for each fill. It cannot be called in or refilled.

Lortab is a Schedule III narcotic, and can be called in, refilled, etc.

The primary difference is in the strength of the opiate in the drug - Percocet is controlled more because the opiate content is much higher than Schedule III drugs. Other Schedule II drugs are Dilaudid, Morphine, MSContin (time release Morphine), Oxycodone, Methadone, Codeine (pure form, not combo) etc.

The reason that Lortab is not working as well or as long is that it's a step down on the opiate schedule - it's just not as strong to begin with. It's likely you're doctor switched you because:

1. He's an idiot and doesn't know anything about pain medications and pain

2. He figured your pain was reduced and switched you thinking you wouldn't notice the difference, and

3. He thought he'd "save" you from becoming dependent. Forget that you're still in pain.

Advice? First thing, start tracking your pain with a Pain Diary - you can get them at painfoundation.org (American Pain Foundation). If you ask for stronger meds without documented evidence of increased pain you'll be labled a drug seeker by idiots who are looking to cover their asses, and not help you ease your pain.

Second - find another doctor. Anyone who changes your medication without explaining why or telling you that it's less potent isn't being honest, and you can't trust them. Doctors are like Barbers - they provide a service. If you get a bad haircut, do you keep going back? Try to find a pain specialist.

Herbal plants are very rare. There sren't Any that will give the same effect as OxyContin. Poppy seed bagels will not give you. The same effect as morphine. Their are Rupert's of poppy seeds showing up,as morphine on ironed tests, but this is unlikely with beer technology.

Im prescribed 100mgs of tapentadol and i would say with a low tolerance it can feel like 10 mg of percocet or like 30-40 mgs of hydro on an empty stomach with a low tolerance. SO to answer your question pretty much with an added energy effect from the norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor.

It depends on a number of different factors - the patient's tolerance to the opiate, the strength of the opiate taken, how long it's been used, how big the patient is, etc. However, the reality is that there's no way to do it without withdrawals - that's just the facts of human physiology. The only thing you can do is to lessen the impact, and that's not as bad as it might appear if you're prepared physically and mentally to do it.

Having been dependent on opiates for many years, and having had to increase and decrease my dosages many times over that period (10 years), I've used incremental dose reduction many times to lower my dosages. Usually it takes about 4-6 weeks depending on the drug. Since I use the strongest dosages of the strongest opiates, it takes a bit longer for me than it might for someone using less for a shorter amount of time.

In incremental dose reduction, what you do is cut the pill in half or in quarters. First try taking half your normal prescribed dose, and see how you deal with the withdrawals. If it's too strong, then start with only a 1/4 reduction in dosage. Take it for a week, then drop another 1/4. If the withdrawals are too strong still, then stay at 1/4 dose reduction for another week, then try again. When you can tolerate the withdrawal, then reduce by another 1/4, and repeat the weekly process. Keep doing it until you're completely off of the drug.

Since I'm retired on disability, I have the luxury of being able to sedate myself heavily and remain in bed when dealing with large dosage reductions and withdrawals. Since most people don't have that available to them, it might take longer or shorter amount of time to reduce the drug to the point you can stop taking it.

It also helps to take an OTC med to compensate and ease the withdrawal pain. Two of my favorites are Tylenol Rapid Release Gel-tabs, and Bayer Back and Body Aspirin. I also use them frequently when I don't fell like using any Percocet for breakthrough pain. Bayer works better for withdrawal pain though. Aleve or prescription Naproxen will also help.

Withdrawal drugs essentially ease the withdrawal process, but they can make you sick if you take them at the wrong time. I personally don't like using them as it's just something else in your system you have to deal with at some point. But each person is different, and it really depends on how you deal with withdrawal symptoms.

You should ask your doctor for anti-anxiety and anti-nausea meds (you'll need the anti-nausea meds toward the end), and set aside time off to do it. Make sure you've got someone around for the first few days, as you're not going to feel like doing anything and you'll need help with food prep.

Keep an ample supply of water and Gatorade/Powerade around to keep your fluids up as you'll be sweating a lot. It's really not more uncomfortable than a bad case of the flu. Keep warm, and have plenty of mental distractions, e.g., movies, games, music, etc.

Regardless of how you do it, you should never try and reduce your dosages without your doctor's involvement. The body doesn't respond well to withdrawals, and each person's body reacts differently. You don't want to experience sudden withdrawal related problems,and your doctor can help you navigate that minefield.
