In the Movie Pinocchio, the 1940's Disney Version, the boys are turned into Donkey's and sold for the Coachman to profit. After being tricked into thinking that they had an all expenses paid vacation to Pleasure Island, many little bad and mischievous boys indulge in their misguided acts, on an Island built for sin. Smoking cigars, breaking things, playing pool and countless other acts keep them busy all night. However, the island that they have been enjoying so much, is actually the cause of their donkey transformations. The "Island Curse" slowly turns each adolescent into a literal jackass. Once the boy has completely been transformed, they are loaded into cargo boxes that are sent off to various circuses, or mining destinations. The boys who have been transformed never return home, and finally see the consequences of their wrongful doings.

Once upon a time there was a woodcarver,called Geppetto who lived with out a child.So he decided to make a puppet,naming 'Pinocchio'like a real boy.As he began to carve the wood ,in surprise him,Pinocchio laughed at him.When Geppetto was getting finished,the puppet kicked the old man and ran-out of the door.

As Pinocchio was running on the street,a policeman got custady him.But people said to the policeman that puppet belongs to Geppetto.So the policeman arrested the old man intead of Pinocchio.

Pinocchio had to remain alone at home.When he rest in his bed a talking cricket advised to be listen to his father otherwise,sorry in later.then Pinocchio felt hungry so,he tried to cook an egg. As it put on hotpan a little chicken flew away.Then he sat by fire and began to sleep when Geppetto came to house.The old man saw the puppet's feed had burnt.He fed some Pears to Pinocchio saying-"I'll make you new feet and some clothes to go school like real boy." Geppetto was so poor because he had to sell his coat for Pinocchio's text book.

On the school way, Pinocchio heard some exciting music came from a puppets show.He went there and joined it's show with them.At first the puppet master angry with Pinocchio but later more friend with him and gave five gold coins to Pinocchio

As Pinocchio set off for home,a fox and cat came to steal his money.He escapped frome them,by climbing a tall oak tree. luckily Pinocchio rescued by a beautiful blue fairy who lived nearby. The fairy asked about his coins.He said that he had lost his money.Then his nose began to grow longer and longer.The fairy laughed."that what happens when you tell lies." She said.But he wanted to become real boy,he asked for help from the fairy.

The fox and cat met again to Pinocchio and did steal his coins.When he asked from a policeman about it,he arrested Pinocchio.Meanwile the old man went to sea for look Pinocchio,but his ship wrecket in a storm.

When Pinocchio was let out of prison,he had to fun with bad boys.They all be came donkeys.As Pinocchio work as donkey in toyland,his leg had broken and throw in to the sea.As soon as he hit to the water Pinocchio turned into the puppet again.In the bottom of the sea,a huge fish swallowed Pinocchio,amazed to see Geppetto also in it's belly.The blue fairy had been watching them,turned to Pinocchio a real boy.At last the old man and Pinocchio became delight and lived happily long.

I do not know if Burl Ives ever sang "When you Wish Upon a Star," but the version in Pinocchio is not sung by him. Actually, this Disney version was sung by Cliff Edwards, who also voiced Jiminy Cricket.

Carlos Bernier was a puertorrican baseball player. He was born in the south coast of the Island. He played for a few baseball teams in P.R. and also played in the minor leagues in the USA. He played outfield and was one of the fastest runners in P.R. His arm was fearfull, taking out players from far field. He retired at the end of the 60's. I found him in 1967 working for a steel mill in New Jersey, usa. A while after that, we met again in a social club in N.Y. He came back to his home town around the eighties and died of self inflicted asphyxiation. (it was recorded as a suicide, When I was 14 I was the batboy for the San Juan Senators, and he became one of my best friends on the team. I used his number 8 on my shirt as a batboy. When I went into the US ARMY, I played ball with his number 8 also. He is remembered as one of the BB glories of P.R.. Carlos was nicknamed "La Vieja" (the old lady) because of his years playing baseball. He played with Roberto Clemente and then managed by Clemente in the San Juan roster. Rest in peace my dear Carlos.

When Geppetto made the wooden puppet, when he carved the nose it kept stretching and stretching, although he tried to shorten it, until he gave up in despair!
