3,620 Questions

Compared to earth Jupiter?

Unlike Earth, which is composed of a crust and mantle of silicate rock and a core of iron, Jupiter is made mostly of hydrogen and helium with a rock and metal core. Jupiter is 11 times the diameter of Earth and 318 times the mass. It rotates in a period of just under 10 hours.

What are Jupiter's surface features?

Jupiter does not have a solid surface like Earth, as it is a gas giant made mostly of hydrogen and helium. However, it does have a dynamic atmosphere with features like bands, zones, storms (such as the Great Red Spot), and cloud formations. Jupiter's moons also have unique surface features like craters, mountains, and lava flows.

How far is the g spot?

it depends on the age. but usually the G spot lies with 5-6 centimetre of the entrance.

Where is Jupiter located from the sun in terms and miles?

Jupiter is 778 million km or 484 million miles from the sun. See the related link for more information.

What moon is the daughter of Jupiter and ananke?

The moon Adrastea is believed to be the daughter of Jupiter and Ananke. Adrastea is a small moon that orbits within Jupiter's main ring.

What are the four largest moons of Jupiter?

The four are the so called "Galilean" moons which Galileo discovered, the first objects besides the Moon to be found as satellites of a planet. They are larger or comparable in size to our Moon.

The names are:

Ganymede
Callisto
Io
Europa

How far is Jupiter from the sun from the in km?

Jupiter is approximately 778 million kilometers (484 million miles) away from the Sun on average.

What is the gravitational force that Jupiter exerts on the sun?

The gravitational force that Jupiter exerts on the Sun is approximately 0.001 times the force that the Sun exerts on Jupiter. This is because the force of gravity between two objects is proportional to their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them. Since Jupiter is much smaller in mass compared to the Sun, the force it exerts on the Sun is significantly weaker.

Does Jupiter have a nickname?

though Jupiter has a ton of nicknames, the one I've always grown up hearing; the one I'm most familiar with is "The Red Giant." This nickname was given to it in honor of it's famous Hurricane (The red spot we see in the pictures.)

What is the highest recorded temperature on Jupiter?

Temperature on a planet like Jupiter is not like that on Earth, one reason being that there is nothing constantly recording temperatures out there. Additionally, the atmosphere, the surface, and the core of Jupiter are very different, and the temperature generally depends on where you are as a result of the pressure.

At the same pressure as Earth's atmosphere, the temperature is -110°C (-166°F), however, the tops of the visible clouds are approximately -70°C (-94°F). The temperature reaches 70°C (126°F) when the atmospheric pressure is about ten times as great as earth. The core can reach up to 36000°C (64000°F), much hotter than the surface of the Sun.

At an altitude of 1000 km above the planet, the atmosphere is excited by radiation and magnetic influences (and possibly gravity flux) to a temperature of 700°C (1260°F), but the hydrogen gas is so thin that the actual heat involved is negligible.
Jupiter has an average temperature of minus 234 degrees Fahrenheit or minus 145 degrees Celsius.

Closest planet to Mars?

the Earth The Earth is the closest planet to Mars. During the period of their orbits, Mars is 34 million mi (55 million km) away from the Earth at their closest and 249 million mi (400 million km) at their farthest to each other. Just for comparison, Mars gets within approx. 304 million mi (490 million km) to Jupiter at their closest.

Interestingly enough, Jupiter is so far away from Mars that, at all times, Mars is closer to Mercury than it is to Jupiter.

Is there an atmosphere on Jupiter?

Jupiter's atmosphere is thick and has a lot of gases.

The planet Jupiter has a very gaseous atmosphere, comprised mainly of helium and hydrogen. Jupiter actually has no solid land beneath its gassy layers, just thicker clouds of gas within itself.
Jupiters Atmosphere is not as good as the other planets
Hydrogen and helium

The atmosphere of Jupiter is made up of hydrogen, helium, ammonia, methane, and water vapor.

The atmosphere appears as alternating bands of light regions , called zones , and the dark regions called belts, that run parrellel to the equator. It's hard to explain what the atmosphere of Jupiter is, since the planet is 90% hydrogen and 10% helium. Here on Earth, we'd consider those gasses all atmosphere. But under its strong gravity, Jupiter pulls together this atmosphere into separate layers with very interesting properties. Unlike Earth, Jupiter has no clear boundary between its atmosphere and the rest of the planet. As you travel down through the planet, the density and temperature of hydrogen and helium change, and scientists have defined different layers based on those changes. The atmospheric layers on Jupiter are the troposphere, stratosphere, thermosphere and exosphere. As Jupiter lacks a solid surface, scientists define the bottom of its atmosphere at the point where the pressure is 1 bar; the atmosphere is above this point. As with Earth, the temperature of Jupiters atmosphere decreases with height until it reaches a minimum. This is the tropopause, and defines the boundary between the troposphere and the stratosphere - it's about 50 km above the "surface" of Jupiter. The stratosphere rises to an altitude of 320 km, and the pressure continues to decrease, while temperatures increase. This altitude marks the boundary between the stratosphere and the thermosphere. The temperature of the thermosphere rises up to 1000 K at an altitude of 1000 km. All of the clouds and storms that we can see are located at the bottom of Jupiter's troposphere, and they're formed from ammonia, hydrogen sulfide and water. The top cloud layer contains ammonia ice. Below this are clouds made of ammonium hydrosulfide. Water clouds form down at the densest layer of clouds.

How much farther is Jupiter from earth than the moon is from earth?

Dear Inquirer,

The difference between the distance of Earth to the Moon (238,857 miles), and Earth to Jupiter (390,682,810 - 576,682,810 miles) is anywhere from:

390,449,953 mi (closest)

to

576,443,953 mi (farthest apart)

Is Jupiter cold?

Jupiter is very cold; its average surface temperature is about -143 degrees Fahrenheit.

However, as you go deeper inside the planet, it gets hotter.

Near the center, the temperature is thousands of degrees Celsius.

What is the period of rotation of Jupiter?

Jupiter rotates faster than any other planet. It takes 9 hours 56 minutes (Earth time) to spin around once on its axis, compared with 24 hours for Earth. This gives an estimated equatorial rotational speed of 12.6 m/sec or 45,300 km/hr.

(This is indirectly calculated from the speeds of the visible clouds, as moved by interior currents.)

What is Jupiter's energy source?

Jupiter's energy source is primarily gravitational contraction. As the planet shrinks, the energy released generates heat and sustains its high internal temperature. Additionally, it also receives a small amount of energy from the Sun and possibly through the process of helium rain.

Why does Jupiter have such a powerful magnetic field?

Jupiter's magnetic field is 14 times as strong as the Earth's, ranging from 4.2 gauss (0.42 mT) at the equator to 10-14 gauss (1.0-1.4 mT) at the poles, making it the strongest in the Solar System. This field is generated by eddy currents-swirling movements of conducting materials-within the metallic hydrogen core.

What is Jupiters revolution time?

Jupiter completes one revolution around the sun in11.86 years.

What is Jupiter's symbol?

If your web browser can draw it, the symbol is: ♃

It looks like a 2 with a long bottom line, and a line going down perpendicular to the long bottom line.
