What is the difference between secondary and primary pollutants?
Some Primary pollutants are like when humans directly put them in the air
Secondary pollutants are like when pollutants react with Primary and other Primary pollutants.
How does plastic effect living things?
The production of a water bottle affects the environment because to make the water bottle it takes a factory and lots of natural resources. Also to transport the water from place to place it takes planes, trucks, and cars which all release CO2 into the air. So, that is how a water bottle affects the environment. Moreover, most water bottles are non-biodegradable and persist in the ecosystem, harming the natural balance in nature.
What are the consequences of water pollution?
Water pollution consists of unnatural materials or chemicals in water, including garbage, plastics, abandoned fishing netting, chemical compounds, etc.
Consequences of water pollution include a wide range of different issues. From a direct impact on human health when that water is then converted to drinking water, to large and sometimes very noticable environmental problems.
Water pollution can cause defects in every form of living organisms. In humans it can cause human birth defects and even death.
There are many cases where with a simple online search you can find out related sources, such as the Love canal, and many others including rivers that have caught on fire.
What are the two types of pollutants?
Air pollution and CFCs Ai pollution as all the gasses are polluting all the air which can be causing breathing problems and health problems. CFCs as all the fuels and gasses are creating the CFCs to crash and the hole in the atmosphere is getting bigger by the minute.
Is termidor dangerous to humans?
Yeah if you drink it. Termidor is a pesticide. It can be harmfull to humans in several ways. It can enter your body through your skin, mouth, eyes, ears. Once it gets in your body it stays in your fat cells for a long time. It is also listed with the E.P.A. as a possible human carcinagin. It also has a strict label to minimize exposure the people and pets. There are other safer less toxic pesticides that are just as effective, such as Premise made by Bayer. There have been some reports of people getting sick. There have also been cases of dogs dying from the chemical in Termidor.
What are some of the effects of water pollution on the earth?
Water pollution can harm aquatic ecosystems, disrupt food chains, and endanger aquatic wildlife. It can also affect human health through contaminated drinking water and the consumption of polluted fish or seafood. Additionally, water pollution can degrade water quality, making it unsuitable for recreational activities and reducing the availability of clean water resources for agriculture and other purposes.
How does pollution by agricultural practices affect the environment?
Pollution from agricultural practices can lead to water contamination from pesticides and fertilizers, soil degradation from erosion and nutrient depletion, and air pollution from methane emissions. This can harm aquatic life, reduce soil fertility, and contribute to climate change.
"Chem-Trails" or "Chemtrails" are Aircraft spraying operations of Chemical Compounds on a nations Citizens, usually performed by the Military as an operation to understand the effects and/or coverage abilities of certain compounds, Chemicals or pathogens. The American military claims that this is for our own protection and has been performing these kind of experimental operations on the public since at least the end of World war 2.
Chem-Trails are not the same as Con-trails. I have viewed Con-trails since I was a small boy and as most everyone knows, Con-trails dissipate some time shortly after a jet aircraft has flown out of site. Chem-trails, on the other hand, linger in the sky most of the day. If you happen to witness a chem-trail spraying from the beginning, you will first notice that the trail starts to expand slowly, and as hours pass, you will see that the chemical compound material expansion will eventually envelope a large part of the sky. If the sunlight happens to be passing through the chemical compound, it will give off a strange hue to reveal it's chemical nature. On rare occasions, the material will come to Earth in globs or droplets and resembles a wispy web-like structure.
When I first took notice of chem-trail spraying in the year 2004, (some say the spraying started as early as 1987), I observed the spraying procedure as patterns being created in the form of letters, others were in a tic-tac-toe or grid like pattern and some in parallel lines from horizon to horizon. Other observers have suggested that these patterns are made in this way so they can be observed from Satellite locations to facilitate efficient coverage. Of course, the Government denies all Knowledge of the spraying as they do with all Black-op projects, and in the early days, they were employing military aircraft to accomplish most of the spraying. Recently however, a number of Whistle-blower Aircraft mechanics have come forward and told of seeing strange equipment on Commercial air-planes that included large holding tanks, pressure pumps, tubing connected to holes that were drilled in anti-static anodes on the wing edge, along with a hidden switch under the control console. Other mechanics claim they have been threatened with the loss of employment or have been suspended when it was discovered that they had witnessed the incriminating evidence of spraying equipment in Commercial aircraft.
Concerned citizens who have taken water and/or ground samples 24-48 after a spraying event, claim that at one time, the chemical solution contained microscopic particles of aluminium, but relatively recently, the samples taken from ponds and water sources are revealing that the formula has changed from mostly aluminium to a barium solution, 3X above the recommended safe levels. It also appears that since the change from a mostly aluminium to a barium solution, the mixture is now sprayed form the wing tips rather then being burned in the combustion chamber of the Turbine engine. The thinking is that the solution change was done because of the discovery of concentrations of aluminium found in the brain slice samples of Alzheimer patients.
I live in a small town of 5000 people and spraying occurs regularly, but especially on days with cloudless skies,... I can not remember the last time I was able to enjoy a clear blue sky. Unless the skies over my rural area has suddenly become the ridiculously congested flight path for all International air-plane traffic, or the Daily playground of the Blue Angels, I suspect that there is something else going on, other then the occasional con-trail. Even more convincing, is when both chem-trail activity and con-trails are laid across the sky at the same time, the con-trails will soon disappear behind the Aircraft, while the chem-trails persist the entire day, eventually joining and becoming a large, unnatural looking, cloud-like structure(s).
It was Later discovered through the access of "the Freedom of information act" and the investigation of Government grant archives, that a Scientist once asked for, and was given a grant in the 1970's to demonstrate that microscopic particles of aluminium could be mixed with jet fuel and burned inside a jet turbine engine combustion chamber with very little appreciable wear and tear to engine parts. What was the reason for such a strange Grant request? The Scientist/Researcher wanted to show that a combination of aluminium and jet fuel could produce artificial clouds for the purpose of generating an additional one percent of artificial cloud cover to the Earth so as reflect more sunlight back into space, in the event that global warming should ever become a problem in the future. At that time, it was estimated that full coverage on a yearly basis, would cost about 3 billion dollars. Obviously, the cost today would be much greater. Interestingly, not all Scientists agree that Global warming is caused by the CO2 accumulation Greenhouse Effect. More recently, the dramatic change in the earths weather is being associated with changes in the Sun's output which is said to be part of the Sun's normal cycle. Some strong evidence to uphold this theory is the fact that along with Earth, the planet Mars is also experiencing Polar Ice melting. There has also been temperature and weather pattern changes noted on the other planets that could suggest a hotter Sun.
How does aluminum foil pollute?
Aluminum foil production requires a lot of energy and can release greenhouse gases. Improper disposal of aluminum foil as litter can also contribute to pollution, as it can take hundreds of years to decompose in a landfill. Recycling aluminum foil decreases the need for new production and helps reduce pollution.
Why is oil a nonrenewable resource?
Oil is considered a nonrenewable resource because it takes millions of years to form through the natural process of decaying organic matter under high pressure and heat. Once oil is extracted and consumed, it cannot be replaced within a human lifespan, making it finite and unsustainable in the long term.
Oil dumping refers to the illegal disposal of oil or petroleum products into water bodies, landfills, or other areas, causing environmental pollution and harm to ecosystems. This practice is harmful to the environment, marine life, and public health, and is illegal in most countries due to its negative impacts. Government regulations and enforcement measures are in place to prevent and penalize oil dumping.
What does nutrient enrichment of water bodies lead to?
Nutrient enrichment of water bodies can lead to excessive growth of algae and aquatic plants, a process known as eutrophication. This can result in reduced oxygen levels as the plants decompose, leading to negative impacts on aquatic ecosystems, including fish kills and loss of biodiversity.
How does pollution and humans affect tides?
Pollution, such as plastic waste and oil spills, can harm marine life and ecosystems, affecting the abundance and distribution of organisms that contribute to tidal patterns. Human activities like sea walls and land reclamation can disrupt natural coastal processes, altering tides and increasing the risk of flooding in some areas.
Humans emit carbon dioxide by breathing. They also emit carbon dioxide by belching and they emit methane by farting.
When air pollution combines with moisture in the air dirty haze forms What do you call this?
This phenomenon is called smog, which is a combination of smoke and fog. Smog is a type of air pollution that occurs when pollutants react with sunlight and moisture in the atmosphere, creating a visible haze.
How does pollution affect the world?
Water pollution is the addition of harmful materials to a body of water in concentrations that affect its quality. Water pollution kills life that lives in water. Water pollution also affects the food chain when smaller organisms eat it and are than eaten by larger ones eventually humans come into the food chain too. People can get hepatitis by eating poisoned seafood. Plants are also affected by water pollution. As people dump chemicals into the water the plants there are affected by it. The chemicals work as a fertilizer by making the plants grow as they grow they need more and more oxygen that they used to share with other organisms that lived there. As the plants die from their lack of water they have to decompose which uses even more oxygen, which the fish and other organisms need to survive. This causes the whole ecosystem to be unbalanced.
Thermal pollution can be a significant type of pollution as it can change th biota using a water body. This is especially a concern in smaller streams where the warm water can make up a significant fraction of the total flow. In large water bodies the warm water can dissipate or float on the top (it's density is less) until cooled. The thermal flux from sunlight can easily impact large shallow bodies of water as much as man-made thermal pollution. Thermal pollution is of less concern than chemical pollutants as it cannot bioaccumulate in the food chain. However, fish killed by thermal shock are just as dead as thos
How does quarrying affect people?
Quarries are bad for the environment in several ways. They abruptly interrupt the continuity of open space, ruining habitats for flora and fauna alike. They are eyesores. When they are near residential areas, they create a noise hazard because of blasts and heavy machinery. They also create air pollution, most notably dust.
On a positive note, they do provide materials which are used to make things which are vital to our infrastructure (roads, bridges, dams, seawalls, tunnels) and products which are in demand by consumers.
If the air all around you is polluted what would you do?
If the air around you is polluted, you should try to stay indoors as much as possible and use an air purifier if available. If you need to go outside, wearing a mask can help reduce your exposure to pollutants. Additionally, staying hydrated and maintaining good overall health can help lessen the impact of pollution on your body.
Solar panels can be affected by factors such as shading, soiling, temperature, and aging. These factors can reduce the efficiency of solar panels and affect their performance over time. Regular maintenance and monitoring can help in mitigating these effects.
What would most decrease the amount or carbon dioxide in the air?
Planting more trees and preserving forests would be the most effective way to decrease the amount of carbon dioxide in the air, as trees absorb carbon dioxide during photosynthesis. Additionally, reducing fossil fuel consumption and transitioning to renewable energy sources can help decrease carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere.
Despite efforts to reduce ocean pollution, such as bans on certain plastics, pollution levels have not significantly decreased. Industrial runoff, oil spills, and plastic waste are still major contributors to ocean pollution. Continued global cooperation and initiatives are needed to tackle this ongoing issue.
Why is 5th June called world environment day?
World Environment Day is celebrated on 5th June to raise awareness about environmental issues and encourage global action to protect our planet. It serves as a platform for individuals, communities, and governments to come together and take positive environmental actions. The day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972 and is celebrated in over 100 countries worldwide.
Hull fatigue in oil tankers, tankers breaking up in heavy seas, rust in pipelines. It is not possible to extract oil out of the ground or from the sea bed without spilling at least some oil. Many major oil spills have been avoidable, by spending more money on maintainence and inspection of tankers and pipelines, as well as heeding weather warnings.
I am an engineer... I can do ANYTHING with steel! I can build the framework for a sky-scraper with it, or I can make a bracket to hang your coat on. I can fold it to form a sword or I can weld it into a beautiful sculpture. It can be cut, bent, pressed into 3d shapes, drilled, forged in a blast furnace and moulded in a cast, welded, milled, machined, tapped, threaded to form a bolt or screw, spun into wire or cable... the possibilities never end. There is virtually nothing you CANT do with steel! Want some examples? Check out my company website: WWW.ChichesterEngineering.Co.uk The question is what do you WANT to do with steel?
