Is polyester stretchy material?
Polyester is a material that fabric is fabricated from. Polyester can be knitted into fabrics that will stretch. Polyester also can be woven into fabrics that will not stretch. Polyester can be blended with other materials and fabricated into fabrics that will and will not stretch.
Why should you not wear polyester clothes while working in the kitchen and laboratory?
If it catches fire, it will melt into your skin/wounds. Natural fibers aren't as evasive.
Give one advantage and one disadvantage of using polyester?
Advantages and Disadvantages of Polyester clothing:
Advantages:
Polyester clothing has a lot of advantages: It lasts a long time and wears very well. It is very hard to stain, holds its shape, and does not wrinkle. It can be washed or dry cleaned. It does not yellow. It takes a smaller amount of laundry soap to clean it. Contrary to popular belief, it generally will not sustain a flame, meaning that if, for example, a cigarette is held to it, the fabric will burn and melt where the cigarette is but will not catch on fire itself. Mold, mildew, fungi, etc. do not live on it. While it does not absorb moisture, it does wick it away for evaporation, so in many cases it is cooler than cotton. Many premium clothes are made of a mixture of polyester and cotton to take advantage of these good qualities.
Disadvantages:
It is a plastic and is subject to price changes with the price of oil. It does not have the natural feel of cotton (with some exceptions and use of a fabric softener helps). It is associated with leisure suits from the 70s. If you iron it, you must do so at a low temperature. It will not absorb dyes.
What is the different between a polyester capacitor and electrolytic capacitor?
The capacitor is a component that uses two conductive surfaces separated by a dielectric. In the poly film cap, the "rough" structure is like taking two small strips of foil (the conductors), with a poly strip (the insulator or dielectric) between them. Then the whole thing is rolled up and packaged in epoxy with a pair of leads coming out (to connect the two strips of foil (the "plates" of our cap) to the circuit. A ceramic cap is a small, think disc of ceramic that has a metal coating applied to each flat side (but not, of course, to the edge) and a pair of leads come off the coating. Dip this in epoxy or fire a coating on it and it's sealed. The difference is in the construction.
What is the difference between an A4 A5 A6 and A8 Audi?
Horsepower and trim, S6 being the superior of the two in both categories.
Why do clothes get darker when they get wet?
Cloth normally reflects some light. Remember that materials absorb "not colors" and they reflect "colors" that they are. Make sense? If something is blue, it reflects blue light and absorbs the rest (the "not colors"). Let's jump. Take a piece of cloth that is absorbing some light and reflecting other light. Along comes water. Water is basically transparent to light. But it does refract, or "bend" light, do a degree. When cloth is wet, some of the light that otherwise might be reflected is scattered into the cloth, and the cloth is given a "second chance" to absorb more of the light - which it does. More light absorbed equates to darker color or appearance. Wet cloth absorbs more light because of the effects of the water. Water scatters some of the light, and the cloth absorbs more of that light than it would if it wasn't wet.
Does polyester fabric have a right and wrong side?
The answer is SOMETIMES! You will find that the lightest weight polyester fleece (called Mirco fleece) does have a right and wrong side. The right side will be clearly smoother than the wrong side. Medium and Heavy weight polyester fleeces usually do not have a wright or wrong side. If one side appears bumpy while the other is smooth, then then smooth side will be the right side. Check by running your hand down the fleece on each side. Do you feel or see a difference? If so, treat the smooth side as the right side.
Why is polyester suitable for making the umbrella cover?
polyester is another synthetic fibre.fabric made from this fibre dose not get
wrinkled easily.it remains crisp and is easy to wash.so,it is quite suitable for
making dress material.
Why do soccer shirts have polyester?
Polyester is the choice of fiber and fabric for many industries. It can be applied to a wide variety of useful purposes. Being the most heavily recycled polymer worldwide, it is also used by climbers. Climbing suits, parkas, sleeping bags and other outdoor gear are using the new insulating polyester fiberfill products. One can also do winter windsurfing wearing dry suits lined with polyester fleece. Creating insulation: By creating hollow fibers it is also possible to build insulation into the polyester fiber. Air is trapped inside the fiber, which is then warmed by the heat of the body. This keeps the body warm in cold weather. Another method to build insulation is to use crimped polyester in a fiberfill. The crimp helps keep the warm air in. Polyester is an ideal fabric for this kind of insulation because it retains its shape. Cotton and wool tend to flatten over a period of time and loose the warming effect. Wrinkle resistant: Polyester is also wrinkle resistant and is used very often in everyday clothing like pants, shirts, tops, skirts and suits. Used either by itself or as a blend, it is also stain resistant and hence very popular.
No it doesn't. The way to test if a garment creases easily is to scrunch up a section (in your hand) before you make a purchase. If the material is very creased when you release it, then it will look the same way after you have put it on and sat down in it. Linen is terrible for doing this.
What is the difference between polyester film and bopp film?
Polyester is a polymer chain of Ester monomer and BOPP is a Polymer chain of Propylene monomer.

What country was first to register a patent on polyester?
Patents are not filed by countries but rather by individuals or companies.
In this case the first patent for a polyester fabric, Terylene, was filed by John R. Whitfield and his assistant, James Dickson in July 1941. However because of WW2 the patent wasn't registered until 1946.
If nationality does make a difference, Mr Whitfield & Mr Dickinson were, at the time working for the Calico Printers Association in the UK.
Is a product made of polyester biodegradable or nonbiodegradable?
Everything is essentially biodegradable. Cotton with polyester blended in, or polyester alone will take longer to biodegrade than 100% cotton, for example.
How do you get wrinkles out of a polyester blouse?
Sometimes just washing according to the label and hanging on a line will allow the wrinkles to fall out. (Don't forget to sweep up the wrinkles afterwards!)
If this doesn't seem to work, it could be that wrinkles have become set in the fabric if the garment has been too densely packed and overheated in the dryer after washing. Polyester is thermoplastic and hygroscopic! So, to remove stubborn wrinkles: # Wash the costume according to the label, even if it is already clean.
# Dry it. # Turn it inside out.
# Using the lowest setting, or the polyester setting, iron it on the 'wrong side', using a damp pressing cloth, starting from the top and working down with a side-to-side sweeping movement. At the more difficult wrinkles, iron by pressing hard and moving slowly. You may have to do this several times. If the wrinkles persist, wet them, either by dabbing the areas with wetted cloth or by wetting them with small amount of water, and allowing it to soak in thoroughly. Then iron the wrinkles while they are in this damp condition. You can iron without a pressing cloth, but you have to be very, very careful! And, to avoid iron marks, never iron the garment on the right side!
How do you shrink a baseball cap?
If the cap is made of wool, you can soak it in warm water and then place it on your head. The cap will begin to form to your head as it shrinks.

Do you want cotton or polyester pajamas?
If you want comfort, go with cotton as it is a natural fiber that is softer against the skin. If you want to make sure it doesn't shrink or fade in the wash, polyester is a more durable choice.
What is difference between polyethylene terephthalate and polyester terephthalate?
Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) fits the definition of a polyester so the name is redundant. I think PETP is simply an old abbreviation for PET.
Can you machine-wash a 100-percent polyester dress?
put a drop of bleach in, then two scoups of washing powder in. And it should come out exactly the same. m
How do you get dried nail polish out of 100 percent polyester clothing?
I totally get why you are stumped on getting out nail polish for fabric... Because for the longest time I was too! So far this has worked for me every time! So here is my answer... First... Grab a small glass cup or bowl. Second... Fill it up with any nail polish remover; not all the way to the top, about half way. Third... Depending on where the stain is, press it down to the bottom of the cup, to the point in which it is covering the entire stain. Fourth... Leave it for about 5 minutes Fifth... Grab a tooth brush and some dish washing soap. Sixth... Lay out the shirt Seventh... Cover the stain with a thick layer of soap Eighth... Scrub it hard with the tooth brush, Tenth...but in in the wash by its self, That should work! I hope it does for you!
